Animalopolis, from HAPPY MOON RECORDS, is the newest release from children’s singer-songwriter, Melany Perkins. The acoustic pop album for kids of all ages welcomes listeners to the City of Animals, where kids learn lessons such as how to get along with each other. Half of the 12 tracks are upbeat to encourage movement and half are subdued to encourage quiet time. Animalopolis is the result of a live musical science show with Perkins’ husband, Tim “Mr. Science” Perkins. The show was developed for Very Special Arts, a national organization that uses the arts to reach special needs kids. Since then, the duo has served all over the world on U.S. State Department-sponsored tours of China and Jordan to work with refugee kids.
The Billy Jonas Band has released its album Build It Back Again, available from BURNSIDE DISTRIBUTION. Employing humor and heart, the 13-track album celebrates resilience and growth in the face of life’s most challenging moments. Each “funky folk” song is as playful as it is educational, and ultimately teaches kids about the importance of optimism and staying positive. The album invites interaction and further music making.
