Creative Baby Enters the iGeneration
T
he Alphabet i-Mat, from Creative Baby, is an interactive foam mat made out of four interlocking soft sections embedded with technology to use with the Creative Baby Voice Pen. Preschoolers will learn pronunciations, phonics, and letter recognition in English, Spanish, and Mandarin. The Under the Sea i-Mat lets kids discover aquatic animals, including seahorses and seals. The World of Eric Carle i-Table comes with two mats that serve as a table top, both featuring The Very Hungry Caterpillar and familiar friends from Eric Carle’s books. On one table mat, kids can point to the caterpillar’s middle, which resembles a piano keyboard. Kids can point with the Voice Pen and listen to eight musical notes or point to the ABCs to hear the alphabet song or learn letters one-by-one. When kids point to the caterpillar’s apple, pears, plums, and strawberries, they get a colorful math lesson counting from 1 to 5. Other activities teach shapes, colors, addition, and subtraction.
