Games & Puzzles 4D Cityscape Explores Dubai

D

ubai Time Puzzle, from 4D Cityscape, has more than 1,200 pieces and recreates Dubai’s famous skyline in 3-D, while also utilizing the fourth dimension of time, spanning more than 100 years of architectural history in Dubai. The puzzle includes 72 plastic building replicas that depict the city as it appeared as far back as 1787 through to the addition of the Infinity Tower last year, and into the future to this year with the completion of the Khalid Al Attar Towers. The puzzle includes iconic structures such as the Burj Khalifa, Princess Tower, and Burj Al Arab. Puzzlers can recreate the famous waterways of The Palm and The World. The buildings fit into pre-cut holes in a traditional 2-D jigsaw puzzle that forms the city’s street layout. The puzzle is designed for kids ages 8 and up and includes a time poster.

ravity Maze, from ThinkFun, is a gravitypowered logic maze that puts kids’ visual perception and reasoning skills to the test. The colorful, translucent towers can be arranged in visually stimulating structures, but for each challenge, kids ages 8 and up have to think carefully and build a path that will successfully carry the ball to its target. This single-player game includes 60 challenges ranging in difficulty. Last Letter will inspire creativity, laughter, and quick thinking in kids ages 8 and up. Players must race to come up with and blurt out a word from one of the picture cards in their hand. The next word called must begin with the last letter of the word previously called. The first player to get rid of his or her cards is the winner. The unique illustrations will allow kids to come up with lots of new words.

ecker Associates will show off new licensed games, including TCG’s Didi Dotter Game, which is appropriate for kids ages 5 and up. Up to four players pick their starting egg half and search for its mate. The game is currently marketed in the U.S., Canada, and some European countries. In the fast-paced strategy game Safe, from Funskool, players take turns as any one of the safe animal character pawns, playing in any free square—provided it’s not adjacent to a square containing a similar character. Suitable for kids ages 4 and up, the player with the last safe move is the winner.
