Games & Puzzles Gamewright Goes for the Win

S

ushi Go!, from Gamewright, is a pick-and-pass card game for two to five players ages 8 and up. Players try to grab the best combination of sushi dishes as they whiz by. Players score points for making the most maki rolls or collecting a full set of sashimi. Kids can dip their favorite nigiri in wasabi to triple its value. The player who gathers the most points becomes the sushi master. Qwixx is a quick-playing dice game for two to five players ages 8 and up. Qwixx is simple to play but each decision is crucial—the more numbers players cross off, the more points they score. There is no downtime between turns, giving players the chance to gain from each and every roll. Gamewright will celebrate the 20th anniversary of Super Slamwich with a special edition packaged in a sandwich-shaped box. Two to six players ages 6 and up will flip and stack a giant loaf of cards to build slamwiches and double-deckers. Players must stack and be the first to slap to win the pile, all while catching thieves and stopping meddling munchers along the way. Players must collect all of the cards to be a Super Slamwich hero. Pyramix is a three-sided strategy game for two to four players ages 8 and up. Players take turns removing one cube at a time from the pyramid stack. As cubes come out, others will slide down toward the base. Players must plan their moves carefully as the bottommost cubes are worth big points at the end—and watch out for cobras that may drop in and lessen players’ scores.

Ravensburger Sweetens Up Game Night

T

ula Moon Edition: Eiffel Tower, from Ravensburger, is a 216-piece, 3-D puzzle with precision-cut plastic flat and hinged pieces that click perfectly into place without glue. This colorful version of the iconic structure reflects the artistic style of British artist Steph Dekker, who is inspired by color and pattern, nature, retro and vintage fabrics, and old children’s book illustrations. This display-worthy structure stands 18 inches tall when completed and is designed for kids ages 12 and up. Dream Cakes is a bakery-inspired game featuring sprinkles, swirls, ribbons, and roses. Players ages 4 and up work on multiple cakes at once, spinning the wheel to determine their pieces, stacking luscious layers and toppers to complete their cakes, and judging finished creations for points. With thousands of possible designs, the game is different every time kids play. A modern-day version of Hot Potato, Spy Tag offers kids ages 5 and up a high-speed race to spot the spies and tag them before time runs out. Players take turns drawing spy cards and slapping them on the matching agent cards laid out in front of their teammates. If a player gets caught with a match when the timer goes off, he or she has to draw a card from the secret attaché pile. If the card is empty, the player is safe, but if he or she gets the stolen gizmo, that player is a goner.
