Our Values

In PY, we believe building strong moral values and positive character qualities will benefit the children in all areas of their development. We promote and foster an atmosphere that is positive and nurturing, with the wellbeing of the children being at the heart of what we do. We believe in the power of positive and frequent praise for good and caring behaviour and a restorative approach to discipline.

Since the pandemic and its effects on our learners we believe developing social skills and collaborative learning with others to be important skills for the PY children to re-learn and re-engage with. We therefore build this into the daily lives of our learners so there are many opportunities to build on our PY Values by practice sharing, working together, deep thinking with peers and learning with others.

We intend that our approach in PY will ignite a fire and passion for learning within the children that will last a lifetime! We want students to enjoy life and be happy – as this leads to productive life-long learning. We aim to achieve this through the teaching of Our Primary Years Values
