(a)Where the blue heart is marked in the picture, pinch open the cut square with your fingers and match the seams. (b)Pin and stitch together. Repeat with the other corner. Turn your bucket out to the right side to see how a paper bag base has now formed.

Taking your lining fabric, repeat steps 3 to 5. After stitching, do not turn it out to the right side.

Place the bucket inside the lining with right sides facing. Pin and align raw edges and side seams. Stitch together, leaving a 5cm gap for turning out.

Turn out to the right side. Close the gap by pressing and stitching around the top.
At the top, fold the contrasting band in half, down to the inside and pin on the right side. Stitch close to the lace to create a cuff band.
