Just eighteen months old, Down That Little Lane has quickly established itself as the go-to destination for unique and made-to-order items Tessa’s role as owner and curator of Down That Little Lane is quite a contrast to her previous careers in modelling and personal training. “I started out in modelling when I was just 16, and it took me around the world. But when we moved to Australia in 1999 I found there wasn’t a lot of modelling work here, and so I retrained and moved into to massage therapy and personal training.” After starting a family, Tessa soon realised the early morning starts were not quite so fun anymore. With an eye for detail and a love of handmade, she set about finding something new. “I am always seeing holes in the market. I love unique and bespoke products and spent many hours on Etsy, but found it difficult to find Australian sellers and could never be sure of the quality. I saw an opportunity to create a carefully curated collection of sellers offering quality, bespoke products to an Australian audience.” After extensively researching the market, Tessa invited a select group of sellers to join her new community, and so Down That Little Lane began. tickletheimagination.com.au |
