tools of the trade... I cannot work without my embroidery hoops, embroidery floss and sharp needles. These are my 3 essential items. I am also a big supporter of double-sided tape so when I came across Vliesofix my world changed forever. It is double sided fuse for fabric … AWESOME stuff! My secret weapons are my miniature hoops. My husband originally made these, but as Dandelyne has significantly grown, we have had to outsource. We now have them laser cut in Melbourne. This change has meant that, very soon, the hoops will be available for sale. In the next few weeks everyone will be able to stitch up a little something special and frame it with their very own miniature embroidery hoop … YAY!

lessons learned... Time management, and utilisation of my time, has been an area of enormous learning for me. I have always been someone that creates extra work for myself. So over the years I have been learning to focus and manage on my time better. Trying to complete things that need to be done as opposed to things that will lead me to pointless distraction. Deep breaths and stepping back for a few moments are simple techniques that are enormously helpful. My husband and I really work well as a team, so we do try to juggle the family schedule together. It is not always easy (insert smile with clenched teeth). I love lists and Excel so this comes in very handy when I want to really get stuck into things. Stitching every day has made me a better sewer but I still feel I have a lot to learn and a long way to go … and I’m looking forward to every moment.
