LaCracha Handy is a blogger and divorced mother of two sons. She is currently working on branding herself as a nonfiction author of marriage and divorce, relationships, and parenting including children with special needs. Her first book, Leaving the Hidden path: Motivational Guidance for Women with Young Kids Considering Divorce, will be released March 2021.

I got divorced four years ago. It was 4 days after my 16th wedding anniversary. Two hours later I went to work as if nothing happened. Divorce Day was an exhausting day, but I was filled with joy as I walked out of the courtroom. I blasted “Best Day of My Life” by American Authors over and over until I got home. Thing is, dissolving my marriage wasn’t an easy decision, I had to carefully examine everything about it and decide if it was worth leaving. Relationships need teamwork in order to survive. It doesn’t matter if you’re married or in a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship, both people need to do their part to make sure the relationship stays healthy. There are times where you may not be up to putting in your 100% and that is fine. This is where your partner takes up the slack. That right there is teamwork. But what if you’re in a toxic relationship and don’t know whether you should leave or stay? We stay in toxic relationships for several reasons. We stay in them because of our religious upbringing, financial security, afraid of being talked about or looked down upon, and societal expectations. However ,if you are unhappy, frustrated, fed up, on the verge of a nervous breakdown, or

just an emotional wreck, then it’s time to go over your relationship with a fine tooth comb. That’s what I did with my marriage. I even sought counseling before deciding to separate from my (ex)husband. Deciding to leave a relationship when minor children are involved is even harder. Should you stay for the sake of the kids? There are so many factors to consider. But no one can decide for you because only you know what’s best for you and your children. Listen, It is perfectly okay to leave an unhealthy relationship. You deserve to be happy. You deserve to be stress and drama free. You need your positive energy back. And if you have young children, then you need to be there for them as well. You and your kids need to be physically, emotionally, psychologically, and spiritually strong. But the kids can’t reach these stages without a healthy YOU. The first step to solving a problem is to acknowledge there is one. Assess your situation. Seek counseling if needed. Talk to a trusted friend. Don’t have a trusted friend? Well you do now and that person is me. I know what you are going through because I have been there.

I AM KING TUNSTALL THIS IS GOD’S WORK I CAN'T BE STOPPED Born Andre LaRay Tunstall in Chicago, IL and moved to St. Louis, MO at age 14. I am the father of three children two girls ages 23 and 15, and my only son is 21. After being told by many people I had a unique style, I receive a prophecy that I would be fired from my job and that fashion would be one of many businesses I would own. Three years later, I was introduced to a store owner that was looking for a model to represent her men's line for a TV editorial. In that moment I went from being the Brand Ambassador for Luxe Menswear, to becoming co-owner in the only black owned department store in St. Louis, MO. I've helped to expand the LUXE brand into starting our own Shoe line, with the 1st style being the popular "Couture Star Runner" as well as our own watch line "LUXE Time Pieces". Currently we have five different models and 21 different styles. My passion is helping others win and feel good about themselves. I LOVE styling others and helping them to see the beauty within themselves. My goal is always to uplift my clients, help them to believe in themselves, and chip away at the insecurities that hinder them from being their best! Ultimately, my passion is to become ALL that My Father God has designed for me!!! I enjoy skating, writing music, working out, styling others, drawing, and taking walks through the Park. I don't necessarily have a favorite food, but I try to eat clean as much as I can. I'm always open to trying something new! I seek a woman

that is INDEPENDENT, she has to be driven, and God-fearing. She has to possess both street smarts and book smarts and be honest. She has to have a positive outlook, willing to compromise, has to have an outgoing and funny spirit. She has to support our goals, and have an open heart. Being an Ultimate Black Man to me is becoming someone and something "they" said you wouldn't or couldn't be. Falling and getting back up, fighting through the battles that have tried to destroy you. Black men are smart. Black men are educated. We have hopes. We have dreams. We have goals. We are family oriented. Being a Black man often means struggle and strife finding work, finding housing trying to make it in a racially inequitable country. If you can survive through whatever stones are thrown at you, that's an Ultimate Black Man. I give back to the community by donating items for the homeless, giving the homeless jobs, doing toy drives for less fortunate kids and at this time I’m doing a coat drive for the homeless in our downtown area. I also mentor the youth, support nonprofits such as The Salvation Army and the St. Patrick's Center. Words to all young black men: Pray! God is real!!! (1) Be Bold! Don't be afraid to chase after your dreams (2) Take risks! (3) Live life freely. (4) Lead by example. (5) Trust your gut. (6) Say what you feel, and mean what you say. (7) Express gratitude. (8) Believe in your power. (9) Walk by God's faith only not by man. (10) Exceed your expectations. (11) Don’t take "no" for an answer. (12) Be your best self and don't look back!!!.

It is my aim to arm you with cutting edge information and resources, empowering you to make sound decisions for your health that will help you defy statistics. Which statistics? According to the Center for American Progress, this compelling data regarding chronic health conditions among the black community demands attention: 42 percent of African American adults over age 20 suffer from hypertension compared with 28.7 percent of non-Hispanic white adults. In 2017, 12.6 percent of Afriacan American children had asthma compared with 7.7

percent of non-Hispanic white children. The leading causes of death among African American adults are heart disease, cancer, and accidents. It is time to interrupt these numbers. Each month, Ask Rebecca will give you engaging interactions between author and readers, current health information, and tips for healthy daily living. These tools are meant for you to implement, but also share into your own families and communities. Together, we can make a difference. Together we rise. Read February’s message: Eat Like an Athlete!
