Habitat for Humanity holds dedication ceremony Habitat for Humanity of Langlade County held the dedication ceremony for their 8th home on Sunday, November 9th, 2014. A nice crowd of people turned up for the ceremony and open house despite the snowy weather. Gary Kieper, Habitat for Humanity of Langlade County vice president, was manning the grill and food table all afternoon serving brats, burgers, chips and beans to the community members who showed
up to see the completed home. Habitat for Humanity President Paul Grinde gave a nice speech during the home dedication He emphasized that the home was the culmination of community; nearly 2000 volunteer hours were put into the building of the home and approximately 115 different volunteer showed up to help swing hammers, paint walls, etc. Many local businesses provided donations, ma-

Thank you isn't a big enough word to describe how thankful we are for this home,” commented Jason Moore.

Community Thanksgiving Dinner A Community Thanksgiving Dinner will be served in the PickerelPearson area at Arbutus Lutheran Church on Thanksgiving Day from 11:30-1:00. Thanksgiving Worship begins at 10:30am at the church, located just off Highway 55 near County T, Pearson.
The families of Arbutus Church make this dinner every year as a service to the community. Head Chef Herm Wissbroecker roasts 12 turkeys, mashes 100 pounds of hand-peeled, locally grown potatoes, and cooks roasters of stuffing. Dinner includes all the fixings like gravy,
cranberry sauce, home baked breads, and homemade desserts including pumpkin pie. â&#x20AC;&#x153;We hope that those who otherwise would be alone or wouldnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t fix a Thanksgiving dinner will come and be part of our Thanksgiving celebration. Individuals, families, couples and

The City of Antigo is accepting applications for both fulltime and part-time employment in an entry-level position as a General Laborer in the Department of Public Works (DPW). We are currently hiring 3 full-time positions. Other applications will form a potential hiring list that may be used for future openings within the DPW. We are looking for applicants who have considerable knowledge of equipment, facilities, material, methods, and procedures used in municipal maintenance, equipment operation as it relates to roadway or forestry professions, construction or repair activities. Experience operating various equipment including, but not limited to, graders, tandem trucks, loaders, single axle trucks, backhoes, sand and salt spreader trucks, sewer jet, sweeper, aerial trucks, roller, dozer, mowers, pneumatic tools and brush chipper would be helpful. Within 1 year of full time service, the successful applicants will be capable of and expected to handle standby weekend and week night on call work.
