Heritage charm
T
ime-honoured designs tell a story of Britain’s interior heritage with delicate florals, classic plaids, stripes and checks having stood the test of time. From grand stately homes to charming, country cottages our interiors have been influenced by our idealistic heritance. The great British countryside has inspired many classic designs, from the modest oak tree leaf to the highly prized garden rose. Elements of craft including intricate crossstitch, delicate lace and traditional hand block printing have also been a key source of inspiration for many generations. These historic designs and handcrafted elements continue to feature prominently in interiors today, seeing trend and tradition evolve together to suit a contemporary audience.

Generations of design Founded in 1902, Romo has become renowned for its assorted library of classic and contemporary designs and versatile plains. Offering a diverse style and timeless elegance, enriched with a sophisticated colour palette.
The creative design team is led by Design Director Emily Mould, the great, great granddaughter of Romo’s founder, Robert Mould.
A British, family run business now in its fifth generation, Romo has a wealth of experience within the interiors industry and continues to create diverse designs suitable for both the retail and contract market. Since establishing its own in-house design studio in the 1980s, Romo has developed into a market leader in designer fabrics and wallcoverings.

The studio is a constant hub of activity and creativity, an Aladdin’s cave of sketches, paintings, fabric and colour charts, the studio walls are a continual source of inspiration. Each launch the designers research new ideas, finding inspiration through an array of influences from travel and fashion to nature and the elements. With the customer at the forefront of any launch, great consideration and thought is put into the designs and colour palette, ensuring that collections can be used to create a cohesive scheme for all types of home. Collections are carefully coloured to enhance and complement one another, taking inspiration from current and future key colour trends. Each designer plays a key part in the creative process, with weave experts designing innovative woven qualities and trimmings, as well as talented artists that use an array of mediums to create original prints and wallcoverings. Designs often originate from hand drawn or hand painted sketches, which are then turned into the finished pieces of fabric and wallcoverings you see today.
