MyFiladelfia commenced in 1994 as a support group for depression sufferers. Out of this grew the need for a pastoral equipping ministry. Since 1994, MyFiladelfia, as an interdenominational ministry, grew and spread her wings over the whole of South Africa and even internationally. “Today, we produce people who experience abundant victory in Jesus Christ while being provided to help broken and hurting people, through a process of healing and renewal, done through His Holy Spirit.” The MyFiladelfia team is passionate about the Lord Jesus Christ and believe Him to be the source of all true inner healing. They equip believers to operate more efficiently in their ministries and personal lives. The work of MyFiladelfia is based on the inspired Word of God. Equipping of believers is done in dependence of His Holy Spirit. MyFiladelfia believes that Jesus Christ still heals! Trust, honesty, liability, transparency, excellence and integrity, form the core of the ministry. They provide biblical coaches, mentors and facilitators to give biblical support to clients as they face life’s problems, relationship crises, as well as difficult circumstances arising from living in a world that needs Jesus Christ. Training happens in English and Afrikaans in an open distance learning format, supported by two – three-day interactive contact sessions per year. Students get equipped with theory and practical training. Clients are guided by welltrained supervisors as they oversee the activities of student pastoral caregivers. MyFiladelfia also provides relevant Christian pastoral care skills-development. As part of an international network, MyFiladelfia empowers the greater Body of Christ through training, cooperation, and partnering.
