Also late Saturday the “3 person team” event concluded with both top spots being won by Seattle teams. “2 Girls & A Grandma” with Megan Mitsules, Stephanie Birman, & Ramona McDermott took first place and $ 1,200. when in the finals they defeated “I’ll Decide” with Ken Kreutzer Sr. and Glen & Wendy Curtis who received $900 for 2nd place. This gave Seattle the official bragging rights to having swept the top spots in all three events… But wait, there’s more! Immediately following the conclusion of the 3-person team event we held the Grand Prize $1,200. in cash vacation drawing and guess who won? That’s right—another Seattle player – Mike “Yoda” Pendleton. IN THE BEAT THE MERLE CONTEST...Merle, took on all challengers playing a total of 388 racks of 9-Ball from Thursday Noon through late Saturday evening racking up a total of 266 wins and 122 losses. (Thirteen of those losses were ten 9-Ball Breaks and three Break ‘n Runs by the challengers) The Challenger always got to play 3 racks, and be the one to break each rack. If anyone snapped the “9” in on the break were given 3 tickets in the drawing.

Will King

If they broke and ran they got two tickets in the drawing, and if they just happened to win then they got one ticket in the Saturday Night drawing. Winning the Player cue was Will King from Seattle. Winning the McDermott Starr Cue was Leann Glahn, and winning the Cue Tec Breaking Cue was Rodney Clay. Both Rodney and Leann are OPAL players who play for the Sundowner Inn’s team of “Just Whack It” in the Buckaroo 9-Ball division. In Summation… Everything went smoothly this year. Every event, went off as scheduled. The fact that we had the women’s ESPN televised National 9-Ball Championship right there along side of us was a WIN-WIN-WIN situation for the Casino, The Pro’s and the Amateurs. Not only has Chinook Winds made a good name for themselves by hosting a Nationally Televised Event, but the bodies came from near and far to fill up the arena, and to enjoy what has always proven to be truly a splendid event. The pro’s were quite happy, and are already looking forward to coming back in 2012.
