Fill a large wine glass with ice, most of the cranberries and half an orange slice. Add the Tesco Finest Pedro Ximénez, cranberry juice and prosecco, then give it a good stir. Top with soda water to finish.

SHERRY EGGNOG

(serves 2) 1 medium egg 25g caster sugar 75ml semi-skimmed milk 75ml double cream 60ml Tesco Finest Pedro Ximénez Sherry ice 1 nutmeg, for grating Place the egg and caster sugar in a blender and whizz for a minute until pale and creamy. Pour into a jug, add the milk, double cream and Tesco Finest Pedro Ximénez. Stir well to combine. Fill two tumblers with ice, pour in the eggnog and garnish with grated nutmeg.

WINTER SHERRY COBBLER

POMEGRANATES Freeze seeds in ice cubes for a shot of colour and use the juice for spritzers, mojitos, crowd-pleasing punches, or martinis.

NUTMEG Winter months call for warming spices like nutmeg. Grate over creamy drinks or add to hot, buttered rum.

HOW TO...

1 small handful mint, plus a sprig to garnish 1 orange slice, peeled and cut into pieces 45g winter berries (defrosted, if frozen), plus extra to garnish crushed ice 30ml Tesco Finest Pedro Ximénez Sherry Muddle the mint, orange pieces and winter berries together in a cocktail shaker. Fill with crushed ice, then add the Tesco Finest Pedro Ximénez and shake. Pour into a piña colada glass, garnish with extra berries and a sprig of mint. Serve immediately.

MAKE A SUGAR SYRUP

DISSOLVE Bring 1 part water and 2 parts caster sugar gently to a boil until the sugar is dissolved. Leave to cool.

REFRIGERATE Pour into airtight sterilised jars* or bottles. Store in the fridge until needed. Use within 2-3 weeks.

ENJOY Use in cocktails or to sweeten sparkling water, coffee and iced drinks. It’s also known as ‘simple syrup’ in recipes.
