Are you a Carer? If you need a break in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, join The Carers Choir; an uplifting experience singing songs of joy and hope, bringing all carers together. The Carers’ Choir meet every Wednesday, 12:30pm at The Carers’ Resource, 35-37 Oldham Road, Rochdale. It’s open to any carer in the borough to join. Thirty strong chorales from across Rochdale Borough belt out a repertoire of contemporary songs including; You’ll Never Walk Alone and Lean on Me, and are happy to perform for local organisations in the Rochdale Borough. ROCHDALE SCHOOL OF ROCK LAUNCHES WITH VIP CONCERT!
Well-known local music teacher and Rock Choir leader Phil Reynolds launched the brand new Rochdale School of Rock and Pop with a weekend of workshops and lessons, culminating in a VIP concert featuring talented young students and very special guest soloist – the fabulous comedian Jimmy Cricket! Royal Academy of Music alumnus Phil Reynolds expained: “The Rochdale School of Rock is located at the historic Tramway Offices on Mellor Street. Our aim is to provide affordable, top quality tuition in modern popular music styles using carefully chosen local musicians. More than that, I wanted to create a music ‘hub’ where musicians and bands can meet, learn, rehearse and forge links. It’s about time we got Rochdale back on the rock music map in the UK, where it belongs!”
