OSA NEWS Greetings from Ontario Simmental Association Approximately 50 people attended the OSA AGM in Peterborough on March 1. The discussions were lively and focused on items including the 2014 National Show to be held at the Royal winter Fair. The Membership approved the idea of trying to hire someone to help with the organization of the National Show as well as assisting with advertising and promotion of Simmental in Ontario.

Junior Beef Expo Results
CSA General Manager Bruce Holmquist brought us up to speed on the genomic project as well as an array of statistics on where and how The Junior Beef EXPO was held March 22 Ontario Simmental fits into the National picture. and 23 in London ON Champion Simmental Female and 4th overall was Jack Oates showing Many thanks to retiring Directors Kara RF/RU Flirtin 304A. Jack was also Senior Enright and Keitha Donovan and Champion and Grand Champion Showman. congratulations to John Pearson and Dan Munro who are the new Directors for 2014. Reserve Kennidi Ron and Carla Nolan were presented with their official Simmental Hall of Fame plaque. Following the meeting we joined the Ontario Charolais Association for a roast beef dinner and a live fund raising auction that has over the years become a highlight of the evening. All in all, a good meeting, followed by a very enjoyable evening with time to visit new and old friends.

Have you ever wanted to go to Manitoba? Well, here is your chance! The National YCS Classic is being held in Onanole, MB July 25-27. The OYCSA is looking into arranging transportation for cattle out to the show. A minimum of 25 head are needed to book a trailer.
