Rehorst Farms Ltd. Welcome to the 2nd Annual Mid Western Ontario Simmental and Angus Bull Sale. Last year’s quote was “Nothing ventured nothing gained,” this year we say, “Enjoy the Journey, it’s exciting.” Most importantly, a big thank you has to go out to the buyers, bidder and supporters of last year’s first Midwestern Ontario Simmental and Angus Bull Sale. It was a tremendous success and motivates us to do better each and every year. Support for our program is much appreciated and also a big thank you to the buyers of Rehorst Farms Ltd. Simmental cattle at the 13th Ontario Autumn Simmental Classic and the Autumn Angus Classic both held in Hanover, Ontario in early September. The Angus side of the business is growing rapidly and under pinned by our matrons. We now own 7 direct daughters of the super cow Evening Tinge 57R as well as her maternal sister. Purchasing the top selling females from the great Johnson Livestock herd has allowed us to assemble a very elite group of females. Also very exciting is we were able to be part of an exclusive syndicate that was formed on Youngdale Believe 46B who commanded $146,000 last spring. Our first Believe calves are on the ground and they look impressive. On the Simmental side, we were fortunate to be able to purchase a semen pack on a new bull called “LFE the Riddler 323B.” This will be a great complement to our past and present walking herd bulls that have the “ Wheatland Bull 680S” influence on both maternal and paternal sides. “Mr. CCF Vision” will be used on our Simmental heifers this spring and followed up with our calving ease “Captain Morgan” son we bought last year from Double Bar D. Rehorst Farms Ltd. Has 15 Simmental bulls and 3 Angus bulls on offer for your consideration and we feel we have an excellent selection of high quality deep pedigreed and BIO performance tested bulls for almost any situation. The purchase of your next herd bull is the most important decision any cattleman has to make. Extra pounds at weaning, yearling, as well as feet, legs and milk have never mattered more today with the opportunity of the good prices that exist. This year’s Simmental offering features two amazing and complete bulls sire by FBF1 Combustible. two powerhouse bulls sired by “Stubby,” one of them a two year old, eight bulls sired by the great Rehorst BLK Wheatland 680Y and three are sired by our NLC Upgrade Son. On the Angus side of things, two bulls out of Evening Tinge cows, one sired by S A V Record Harvest, one by Mohnen South Dakota and the third Angus bull is a real nice “Soo Line Motive” grandson. Paradise Farms Paradise Farms consists of 300 acres, 45 minutes north/west of Toronto in Caledon, Ontario. The Paradise Herd began in 2008 with the purchase of 5 cows. We have quickly expanded to today at 125 purebred Angus Cows. Our selection criteria is very critical for strong maternal and paternal characteristics, good feet and legs, well balanced udders, great disposition, easy fleshing, calving ease and backed by strong pedigrees. We are as critical when we consign females and bulls to sales. We only keep a few bulls a year and steer the remainder to be finished off for our meat program.
