A LETTER FROM THE FOUNDERS When we signed up for our first event, we had no idea the unbelievably rewarding journey we were about to embark on. We were so focused on the product that we weren’t prepared for what was about to happen. Women transformed right before our very eyes. They would have a seat for a simple Flawless Face makeover and would leave with their heads held high and full of confidence! Expecting to change faces with our formula, we left with our lives changed forever. As busy Moms-on-the-go we wanted to create an opportunity for women to easily start their own businesses and run it the way that works for them. Why did you join Sweet Minerals? “My journey with Sweet Minerals started when I started to become unhappy with the company I was originally with. I joined the direct sales field in addition to my full-time job because I needed extra money to start putting aside for Graduate school (I am currently working for my Bachelors Degree in education). There was absolutely no way that I could make enough extra money with the other company due to things going wrong. I had considered Sweet Minerals for almost a year until I decided to make the official switch. I am super happy with that change. It has helped me conquer my anxiety and break out of my shell, I have met so many amazing people, I have found beauty products that I can NOT live without - I have Psoriasis and my skin is super sensitive, and it is helping me put money aside for Graduate school.�

Once you have customers – take care of them, but don’t constantly re l y o n t h e h a n d f u l y o u h a v e t o order every month. Customer service is a priority to me, so following up is key! Continue to build that customer base by not just taking orders, but offering them a chance to get their makeup for free and half off by hosting a virtual party! 1 customer can easily become 10 with a party!

If you try and coach everyone the same or to be just like you it won’t work. I keep one day open a week to do nothing but spend one-on-one time wi t h t hose who want to bu i l d their business and themselves. I think about how I have a routine, offer makeovers, schedule parties, create post, create videos, do a live or two, spend time to grow myself. Spend time with those important to me. Doing all these routines weekly keep Me inspired, motivated, driven and focused. When I fall off I can promise you I can check and see what boxes I didn’t do, and once I start doing them, I am right back to kicken booty!!”

hen Chrissy Marriner began mixing makeup on her kitchen counter it was because of two reasons. One reason was because of her health. hree women, Candace Maurer, Heather Lins and Chrissy Marriner, met at a Chicago Uno Pizzeria in Ellicott City Maryland. They had known each other for all of a few hours before they shook hands as business partners. Their first order of business? Find a name for their new mineral makeup line.

recently Maurer ran her own spa distribution business and recruited Lins to help her find “the best, yet relatively unknown� cosmetics line to distribute locally in salons and spas. Lins said the only option would be a mineral cosmetics line.

The two began their quest for a mineral makeup line that was unique and would be perfect for all skin types. They began sampling brands when one Sunday at a Christmas party Lins pulled up a seat next to a woman (Marriner) and started a conversation. WHEN LINS ASKED MARRINER WHAT SHE DID, SHE REPLIED “ I FORMULATE MAKEUP. MINERAL MAKEUP.” LINS WAS SHOCKED. They formed a partnership in January 2011 and they put their first event on the calendar, a woman’s show in March.

Two young girls sat in the makep chairs, their names were Andelyn and Jordan. Andelyn had acne and most makeup she wore either did not cover it up or made it worse.

Women stood in line for Flawless Face makeover’s for two solid days.

Marriner says “We would go in early and stay late and we still had a line. We hadn’t even prepared for this, but it was really exciting!”

At each event, the three partners would be asked “Do you do home parties?” When Smith saw what the products looked like on her two daughters, she was impressed. Lins, Maurer and Marriner left the event on a high, they realized “WE HAVE THE IT FACTOR!”

They began selling their products at craft shows in school gyms, in salons then to a kiosk in a major mall! During that first year they gained a dedicated following of customers who RAVED about their products. Friends began telling friends, and word began to spread…

Not knowing how to proceed, someone BIG TIME stepped up. Remember Andelyn, the young girl they met at their first event? Her Mom Shelley Smith had been in direct sales for 20 years. Shelley told them: “YOU HAVE IT! I’VE NEVER SEEN SUCH A PRODUCT! “YOU’VE GOT TO BRING IT TO THE DIRECT SALES MARKET!”

Smith’s vision and excitement was just what they needed! The foursome got to work developing the direct sales side of the budding brand and a month later Sweet Minerals was introduced in person at an event. Everyone at that first direct sales event joined bringing in the funding they needed to get going into the direct sales arena! Today there are over 2600+ Educators across the USA.

rowing up, hospitals were an every month occurance for Sweet Minerals CoFounder, Candace Maurer. Born with a rare leg condition, Maurer’s Mother (Bonita Grant, Sweet Minerals Shipping & Production Manager) refused to hear what the doctors told her to do - to amputate and for the first decade of life, found the right Doctors who were experienced with this rare condition.

It was during one of the sugeries that Grant drove her daughter to Delaware for another surgery. The Ronald McDonald House opened their doors to Grant when she needed a place to stay.

Maurer and Grant never forgot what the Ronald McDonald House did for a tired mother who only wanted the best care for her daughter but didn’t know where to stay.

Each December, before the big Christmas Party and each Mother’s Day, Sweet Minerals HQ goes to the Ronald McDonald House and not only teach the Moms how to apply makeup, each of the Moms walk away with a full Flawless Face Package, a boost in confidence, and some much needed “girl time” to let their hair down and laugh a little.
