ACCIDENT? How to Choose an Attorney All lawyers are not created equal. The right lawyer can be the difference between freedom and a criminal conviction. The right lawyer can be the difference in preventing you from losing your shirt in a divorce settlement. The right lawyer is critical to ensuring you don’t get taken advantage of in a business deal. Don’t settle for a second rate lawyer. And don’t try to hire the cheapest lawyer you can find. Some people try to represent themselves and end up paying more in fines or getting some jail time because they didn’t have the right kind of legal representation. Attorneys know the law, and the loop holes that may be able to help your case. They know how to work with other attorneys and can recommend the best legal strategy for your case. They also understand how to properly fill out the correct files, forms and paperwork. No matter what legal issue you are facing, you can find an attorney who matches your needs and advocates strongly for side of the case. Here are some factors to keep in mind when choosing a lawyer.

References Sometimes, finding a great attorney can be as simple as asking your family or friends for referrals. If you are getting a divorce, look for people in your social network who have been through a divorce and were pleased with their attorney. You can also ask attorneys for references. A quality professional should be able to provide you with recommendations from previous clients.

Case History Case histories might help you gauge an attorney’s competency. Websites will help you determine a lawyer’s success rate. You can also find out if an attorney you are considering has a high settlement rate. Ask attorneys directly about their case histories. Any lawyer with a good track record will readily provide the information.

Online Ratings Other websites rate attorneys. They are also a great resource for client reviews. Don’t give positive or negative reviews much credence, however. They can be incredibly subjective. Some of the comments are not truthful. Focus on comments about a lawyer’s availability, personality and results. You should not have to struggle to get in contact with your attorney. Always keep in mind that gruff lawyers are sometimes the best ones. While no attorney should treat you rudely, remember that you are paying for their services. Tough, even-handed attorneys can be an asset. A personable attorney is great, but if that person has a terrible success rate, move on.

Affordability Do not settle for inexpensive legal representation. Quality should always come first when it comes to attorneys. If you are facing a criminal case and cannot afford an attorney, ask for a court-appointed lawyer. Taxpayers pay these representatives to help people in need. A court-appointed lawyer can provide you with valuable assistance. Also, never hire an attorney who has been disbarred in any state. And be wary of those who Consultation have been sanctioned by their state bar. Take advantage of any free consultations. Most attorneys offer them. How to Choose a Builder This is a great time to expand or do extensive renovations to your home or office. Putting an addition onto your home has never been more economical. Expanding your home might be cheaper than finding a new home. Americans spend up to $15 billion each year on home improvement projects that are completed by builders. If you are considering additions or renovations to your home or office, you will want to select a seasoned and experienced builder who can skillfully transform your existing building into your dream home or office. Consider these tips as you search for a builder that best fits your needs.

previous client. Be sure to view the work of the builder at those locations and see if you can get any feedback from their clients. Check the References When speaking with previous clients, ask if the construction stayed on schedule. Were there any delays other than the weather? Did the builder keep costs within budget? Also, inquire about the behavior of the crew. Did they leave a mess after the project was completed? You will also want to check on any follow-up service. Were there any repairs or minor touch-ups required? You should receive satisfactory answers to all these questions. Get a Contract

Determine the Budget Knowing your budget will help you determine the size of your project. Don’t make the mistake of overspending on a construction project. Usually, other costs come up after the initial bid on the project. You could end up paying for extra permits you may not have realized you needed, or materials could go up in price. With costs in mind, have a vision of your finished project. This mental image will guide you toward finding the right builder. Get Bids After determining your budget and plan, look for five builders. You can find them on the Internet, in the telephone book, through recommendations from people in your social network, or through ads in your local newspaper. Solicit five bids for this project. Once you have received all of them, throw out the highest bid. The top bid is probably more than you should pay. The lowest bidder might have inaccurately assessed the job or is simply too inexperienced, so be sure to research them carefully. Interview the Builders Schedule appointments with each builder. Communicate your vision and talk about the bid in detail. Request references. Each contact should be a

Once you have selected the builder, you should receive a contract with the bid in writing. Read this document thoroughly so you understand what is included, and what is not. Building contracts outline a time frame for when work will be completed. Be sure you and the builder agree on what will happen if the timeframe is not met. Both of you should agree on the terms of completion. You should not pay the final amount of the bill until all work is finished, including receiving any necessary permits and cleanup. This written document should also stipulate who will be working on your property. Sometimes, a builder subcontracts other companies for portions of a job. You should know the other companies and what tasks they will be doing. Payment due dates will be listed on the contract. It is typical to pay for the materials before the project begins. The materials should be on site before you make payment. Request a receipt for payment. The contact should also specify when the builder will be at the site. Most builders hire project managers for major jobs. If there is a project manager assigned for your job, meet with that person at the beginning of the project. Choosing the right builder will make all the difference in the world. The right builder will be experienced, do quality work in the time frame specified, and keep to the budget as much as possible.

“The Furniture Store that saves your more”

How to Choose a

Furniture Store Furniture gives your house a personality and pizzaz. It communicates a message about who you are. Given the array of choices available these days, there has never been a better time to buy new furniture. No matter the size of your budget, choosing new seating, tables and accessories can make a big difference in your daily life. What is your particular and unique style? What do you value most in furniture? Here are some things to consider when shopping around for furniture. QUALITY THAT LASTS Look for a store that sells quality, longlasting furniture. While inexpensive accessories can be bought cheaply and changed often, big furniture investments -- sofas, dining tables, and the like -- need to be purchased for the long term. That means putting solid construction before a pretty style. Solid construction isn’t always apparent at first glance. It should feel solid, not flimsy, of course. Beyond that, find out as much information as possible about the frame, materials, and what kind of warranty it comes with.

ger the investment, the more important the design and build quality become. Concentrate on finding the best value. An inexpensive sofa will not be a good value if it is built with cheap and weak materials. Likewise, the most expensive love seat will have a wise investment if the frame is not built solidly. It’s best to look for brands with a long track record and good reputation. SERVICE, DELIVERY Every store has a different customer service policy. Choose a store that is well known for being loyal to its customers. Inquire about return policies. Some furniture stores will allow you to exchange an item within a certain time limit if it doesn’t meet your expectations. Learn what fees are involved if you have to return an item -- if that is allowed at all. As well, ask about the store’s delivery policy, including how much it costs, how far they’ll deliver and how quickly your furniture will arrive. If you are comparison shopping, factor the delivery cost when considering different stores. A low-priced couch will not save you money if it comes with an expensive delivery fee. It may be worth it to pay a little more for the couch if free or reduced cost delivery is available.

A well-trained staff can inform you about their furniture, how they’re built and why the construction matters. The best stores have employees who act as guides and teachers, not pushy salespeople.

The bottom line is that there are only two things that matter: the quality of the furniture you are purchasing, and the level of service you receive. Once you have decided on an agent and have purchased your policy, read your policy carefully and compare with the original proposal. It should be the same limits and coverage and forms. If you have any doubt or questions, go back and talk to your agent. A professional agent will always welcome the chance to meet with you and satisfy your concerns. This allows him or her to attend industry meetings, get NAR newsletters, and access software and educational tools. Realtors adhere to a strict code of ethics and have solid knowledge of the real estate business. These professionals have been trained well, which means they will provide you with the best service.

The marketing plan will probably involve placing advertisements and conducting open houses to invite the public for home viewings. If you are purchasing a home, the agent should listen to your guidelines and price ranges. A signed buyer’s representation agreement is a wise choice if you are looking for an agent to represent you as the buyer. Above all, your real estate agent needs to provide updates on progress. Do not work with someone who does not return phone calls or emails.

Where to Start Looking

More Resources

Recommendations are one of the best ways to find a qualified real estate agent or Realtor. Ask people in your social network for referrals. Sometimes agents are good at helping clients purchase homes, but not as skilled at selling them. Keep that in mind when searching for the right professional. You might also contact local brokers or search the NAR directory online. Always work with credible, responsible agents. Otherwise you are wasting your time.

To get a better idea about the process of buying and selling a home, conduct some research on your own. Real estate magazines contain good information and can be a great way to start your research. There are also a lot of good resources on the Internet, such as www.Realtor.com, which is associated with NAR and which contains free, useful information.

You may find housing statistics, market forecasts and tips, but nothing beats the power of networking. You need to find people with similar interests At the initial consultation with a prospective real who will help you in your endeavor. estate professional, focus on your comfort level Upon successfully buying or selling your home, while interacting with them. How to Choose a Tire Shop Tires can make a big difference in your driving experience because they affect a car’s steering and balance. Tires also ensure a smooth, safe drive. Finding a great tire shop is important to any automobile owner.

New or Used

When selecting tires, consider the climate you live in. If it is dry and warm, then a standard tire will be fine. But if you live in a place that gets a lot of snow, then you will want a better grade of tires. Snow tires are good for snow or dry land. High performances tires are good for driving at high speeds. If you commute a long distance, be sure to choose high-mileage tires. Choose an Outlet

Check out the Shops

There are a variety of ways you can purchase tires. They are available through national chains or a local auto shop. You may even buy them online. Buying tires in person allows you to inspect the tires. You can see exactly what you are getting. When you purchase tires online it is difficult to judge what you are getting. National chain stores usually guarantee the product. They might be more costly, but buying them a big store may give you peace of mind. Local shops will likely be more inexpensive, and you might get more personalized service.

When you visit a shop, look at their products and meet their employees. You should feel as though the salespeople are trustworthy and knowledgeable. Once you find a good tire shop, you will likely return again for other products. It is important that you develop a good working relationship.

Cost should play a role in your decision-making process. Figure out what you can afford to pay for tires. It will stop you from wasting time at expensive shops. Hopefully, you will only need to buy tires once a year; depending on how much you drive your car. Choose Type of Tires

WE HAVE THE BEST TIRES AT THE BEST PRICES.

Ultimately, your choice should fit your priorities and budget.

Some people don’t mind purchasing used tires. Pulloffs are tires that came with a new car, but the new car buyer wanted custom tires. As a result, pulloffs are almost new. Does your tire shop guarantee pulloff tires? If a dealer sells new and pulloff tires, the tire installer may not realize that each tire must replicate the way it was installed on the previous car. Failure to do so will result in the steel belt breaking through. When tires have had the worn treads replaced, they are called retreads. A factory buffs the old tread and attaches a new one. Inspections ensure the casing is strong enough to hold a new tread. If you are on a budget, pulloffs and retreads are great choices. Anyone who purchases used tires should inspect each tire thoroughly. Bubbles, holes, cuts and metal showing are a sign that you should not purchase the product. It may not be safe.
