Good afternoon, I am here to talk about my little brother Isai Lopez who was 22 years old and passed away in Santa Clara County Main Jail. My brother was young, with a whole life ahead of him. Isai was an energetic and lovable person who was always willing to help others. He didn't deserve what happened to him behind jail walls, a place where we as family felt Isai should have been protected. It is my belief that my brother Isai Lopez was killed after being beaten multiple times. I don't believe he took his life like they said. My brother was not the criminal they tried to label him as. Isai was incarcerated for minor charges that he was fighting since he was a juvenile, he was out on O.R. for over three years. Frustrated with the court system, Isai failed to appear in court, but turned himself, trying to be responsible. He was not facing a lot of time. My family saw my brother to identify his body at the coroner. They took pictures of his body and head and said his head looked beaten in, it's hard to believe that he would hurt himself. In fact, pictures were so graphic that my family has still not allowed me to see them. What I would like to see happen is justice, because no family should go through what we're going through, especially after five months without any real answers and no real accountability.
