Annual Hazardous Waste Drop Off Event

From Public Works — The Public Works Department recently held its annual Town-Wide Hazardous Household Waste Collection Event led by the Public Works Coordinator Frantza Duval. This exclusive, resident-only collection event was for household items such as old drain cleaner, glass cleaner, used motor oils, fertilizers, fluorescent lightbulbs and used batteries. Centralized and accessible hazardous items collection significantly reduces the probability of toxic waste being disposed into our Municipal Stormwater System.

Thank you to all the residents that participated in our annual event. The Town of Surfside remains committed to providing services to residents that help keep our environment clean. Remember that batteries and electronics are collected yearround at Town Hall and please do not dispose of hazardous materials (i.e paint, chemicals, and biohazardous) in the regular trash.
