NANOLITE KONIC TECHNOLOGY K2 Konic Technology with Nanolite is found in K2’s Freeride Pinnacle collection. It is a super lightweight, low-density aerospace grade composite core that runs through the center and extremities of the ski to reduce swing weight for added maneuverability and control.

Why Swing Weight Matters

Swing weight is the ski’s rotational mass. The greater swing weight, the more torque required to rotate the ski. Without compromising the stabilty of a wider platform in our Freeride skis, reducing the swing weight lessons the amount of energy required to turn the ski.

• Hybrid- This unique construction features the best of both In-Mold and Hard-Shell constructions. The primary In-Mold construction makes the helmet incredibly light, while the secondary Hard-Shell upper allows for more advanced Active Matrix Venting and increased durability. (ﬁgure 1) • In-Mold- In-Mold is the premium construction for ultra-lightweight performance and is characterized by an EPS liner that is molded directly to a lightweight poly-carbonate (PC) shell. The result is a construction so light you’ll forget it’s even there. • Passive Channel Venting- Channels on the inside surface of the EPS direct air-flow between your head and the helmet, removing moisture and excess heat for all day comfort. (ﬁgure 3) • Active Matrix- Climate control at the flip of a switch, Active Matrix Venting allows you to regulate the airflow of the helmet vent system with the push of a finger. (ﬁgure 4)

• Rip Cord Grip System- Safety releasable strap mechanism integrated into grip top. Unique lightweight cored out grip and strap design removes material where possible. Utilizing a 3D molded urethane right/left strap for comfort and ease of entry. Push button hinging grip top allows for easy strap adjustment and removes the need for buckles and Velcro, creating the most comfortable and streamlined strap ever. (ﬁgure 5)

• LockJaw 6000 - Completely redesigned with a T6 6000 series aluminum lever and body linked together with Teflon bushings to optimize clamp force with minimum lever pressure.
