Sound of St Luke's Times: 3:15pm- 4:30pm Location: Room 211 Instructor: Lynne Boyers Grade: 2​nd​- 5​th Cost: $35 Description: The sound of St. Luke's (SOSL) is a choral group for students in 2nd through 5th grades. Each semester concludes with a concert at St. Luke's and a concert at a local youth or senior center. This field trip includes a special lunch away from school to celebrate the student's hard work. Popular and current music bring a whole new energy while the dancer experiments with a wider variety of body sharp movements, and electrifying rhythm. Tuesday Tiny Tumblers Times: 12:30pm - 1:15pm Location: Gym stage Instructor: Mr. Manuel Perez Grade: PK3- PK4 Cost: $453 Description: Tiny tumblers learn all the basics of gymnastics and tumbling. Benefit include increased physical strength, flexibility, coordination, listening and communication skills, multi-tasking and general problem-solving skills. Students must wear T-shirts and shorts. Coach Manuel Perez has been teaching gymnastics and tumbling at SLES for over 19 years. Olympian Fencing Club Times: 3:30pm- 4:30pm Location: Parish Hall Instructor: Velizar Ilier Grade: 1​st​- 8​th Cost: $445 Description: Join Coach Velizar, a US Olympian and World Champion, for a physical and mental workout. The Olympic sport of fencing is a challenging mix of physical and tactical training that is equally suited to boys and girls. Coach Velizar puts great emphasis on safety first. His teaching philosophy is based on working one-on-one with students to develop individual skills in a group-learning environment. Sewing Basics for Beginning Students Times: 3:30PM- 5:00PM Location: TBD Instructor: Ida De La Rosa Spence Grade: K- 8​th Cost: $352 Description: This class is an introduction to basic sewing for the younger student. Participants will learn how to hand sew using plastic needles, yarn, and plastic grids. Upon completion of paper designs and weaving, students will begin using real sewing needles to hand stitch materials, adding buttons, beads, or sequins. All students will create a tie-dye shirt to wear at the Marisol Deluna Foundation 2nd Annual Fashion Show. Do you want to learn the basics of acting and have fun playing theatre games? Mrs. Thorne is looking for animals, superheroes, princesses, pirates and born performers – anyone who has ever imagined their own adventure! Students will collaborate with their classmates to create and stage a short play and learn the importance of voice, movement, storytelling, and working as a team along the way! Students will learn new art techniques by creating unique projects using different media, such as, clay, paint, fabric and wire. LEGO Animals and Their Habitats Times: 3:15PM- 4:15PM Location: Room 213 Instructor: Beth & Jim O’brien Grade: PK3- K Cost: $385 Description: Students, using LEGO® bricks, discuss a myriad of native habitats for a variety of animals. Fine and gross motor skills are used as these various habitats, from the arctic, to the desert, to the jungle, are built. The LEGO animals are positioned in their corresponding natural environments. Role playing and verbalization skills are enriched. Mathematics, engineering, and architectural concepts are involved in the design of the students’ personal renditions. Measurement, estimation, and geometry are discussed as their projects are developed and enhanced. LEGO Team Challenges and Independent Projects Times: 3:15PM- 4:15PM Location: Room 216 Instructor: Beth & Jim O’brien Grade: 1​st​- 4th Cost: $385 Description: Students, building with LEGO® bricks and elements, create unique two and three-dimensional structures and objects. They problem-solve, both individually and in a team setting. Examples of challenges include (1) using only one size or one color of bricks (2) building


a specific object, shape, or animal, and (3) building with a predetermined number of bricks. Math concepts, estimation, prediction, critical thinking and reasoning are some of the many skills that are enhanced. The students will also construct their own specific and unique LEGO bricks “builds”. In addition to imagination, math and engineering skills are used as they progress from their initial concept to their finished project. Verbal skills are enhanced as discussions concerning form, design, adjustments, and enhancements occur throughout this process. Grade: 2​nd​- 8th Cost: $260 Description: In this class, students learn to use their imaginations to identify images in clouds, rocks, and drawings. They learn color, shadows, depth and painting with acrylic paint. Students will work as a team to create a story, write their story, compose, storyboard, and photograph using a professional camera. At the end of the class, they will receive a printed copy of the book they created. Students will work on classical and pop repertoire. Students will have the opportunity to participate in a recital at the end of the semester. Private voice lessons include 12 private 30 minute lessons. One 75 minute group voice class to be held in mid-semester. A voice recital to be held the first week of May.

Friday Bricks, Bots & Beakers Times: 12:30PM- 1:00PM Location: EC Art Studio Instructor: Melissa Forey Grade: PK3 Cost: $212 Description: This preschool program brings science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) to young learners. The rotating curriculum uses LEGO bricks, child-friendly software, hands-on science experimentation and several robot friends, along with play, songs and games to keep kids engaged while exploring science and technology. During the 30 minute class, students learn logic, problem solving, predictions/conclusions and deductive reasoning in a fun and supportive environment.
