Tai Chi is an art embracing the mind, body, and spirit Tai Chi is an effective exercise that consists of physical exercises and stretches. Tai Chi has been described as meditation in motion because it promotes serenity through gentle movements connecting the mind and body The benefits of Tai Chi include reduced stress, improves mood, and better sleep, and promotes weight loss

VIRTUAL CARDIO CONDITIONING

Physical Activity guidelines recommend 150 minutes weekly of cardio or 30 minutes daily for 5 days Cardio conditioning moderate intensity will get 30 minutes of cardio in each workout set in interval with flexibility, core training, and toning the whole body This class is virtual and held via zoom

VIRTUAL FITNESS

Virtual Fitness is a fun way to exercise and communicate with friends! Willow Glen Virtual Fitness is for all who want to engage the five components of physical fitness. Willow Glen endurance, muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, body composition, bone density, mental sharpness and increase body awareness When participating in class have a chair, two weights, stretch band, and two or more bottles of water. Once you register you will receive Zoom ID and password via email

ZUMBA GOLD

Ditch the work out- Join the party! Dance, socialize, and burn lots of calories with this fun modified Zumba option for active older adults Zumba Gold recreates all the same Zumba moves you know and love with lower intensity and lower impact while still focusing on balance, range of motion, and coordination The last portion of the class will consist of toning. Feel free to bring any of these items for the toning portion of the class: 2 lb dumb bells (2), water bottles (2), canned foods (2)

Get fit! If you are looking for a low to medium intensity workout, this is the perfect class for you The class is designed for individuals who need a gentler form of chair exercise, along with strength building and balance exercises Music provides the opportunity for increased movement and enhanced relaxation exercises We will use bands and other weight equipment, all equipment will be provided

HEALTHY EXERCISE VIRTUAL

An exercise class geared towards active adults that focuses on whole body exercise in a safe, fun, and challenging matter. This class is modified to each participant's level We will use many evidenced based exercises that consist of cardio endurance for a healthy heart, muscular strength and endurance for strong bones and muscles, stretches / flexibility for healthy joints, and balance for fall prevention. We will emphasize core engagement and deep breathing for moving efficiently and reducing stress in activities of daily living to achieve optimal health. Prerequisites: Bring your own Laptop Computer to class

Learn how to personalize your computer, organize, and search your own documents with File Explorer. Search things online with Web Browsers, work with emails, manage security, privacy settings and your passwords

Class will also cover Word or Excel online & store documents in the cloud with OneDrive, Google Chrome Browser, Zoom for online meeting. There will be open Q&A opportunities, so feel free to bring up issues you want to discuss

The City of San José offers activity scholarships for children, seniors, and adults with disabilities who qualify. Scholarships will cover 50-70% of the class cost. Fill out the scholarship form and bring the necessary documents to any City of San José community center

We invite all vendors to sign up for an affordable retail space; it's an amazing opportunity to sell more and pay less in a fun, festive, community environment Vendors will need to setup from 7am to 8am, please contact Sylvia Torres@sanjoseca gov if you would like to reserve a specific space, if not space will be assigned at random

Note: Vendors will need to provide their own tables, chairs, and canopy Vendor setup will be from 7am to 8am on the day of the event, and all vehicles put be out of the parking lot by 8am.

Program Information

R.O.C.K. Afterschool is available Monday-Friday on school campuses from the time school is dismissed until 6 p.m., except school holidays, breaks, and inservice days.

Payment Options

R.O.C.K. Afterschool payment options include a one-time payment in full or quarterly or monthly auto pay. A Punch Pass for 10 site visits to R.O.C.K. will also be available for students. Scholarships are available for those who qualify; awarded as funding is available. Please contact your local community center for information about scholarship opportunities.

R.O.C.K. Afterschool is a license-exempt program.

This program offers children between the ages of 3 to 5 years old an educational and recreational experience This program supports children's imaginative, physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development The San José Recreation Preschool Program prepares students for kindergarten success in a safe and welcoming environment

KINDERPREP

This class prepares your child for kindergarten with age-appropriate activities, learning concepts, socialization skills, and fun! Your child will gain a basic understanding of shapes, colors, pre-phonics, literacy building (i e identifying letter sounds, writing the alphabet, and simple words), number recognition, and counting up to 30 The goal is to have fun, participate, and learn Children must be able to use the restroom unassisted All children must have valid immunization records on file before the start of class Requirements for parent participation will vary by center

LITTLE LEARNERS

Children will be introduced to socialization, positive self-esteem, structured playtime, and simple learning concepts. Children will work on hand-eye coordination and motor skills while gaining independence through circle time, music, songs, stories, play, and arts & crafts. Food will be provided for cooking activities and may be provided for special events. Children must be able to use the restroom unassisted. All children must have valid immunization records on file before the start of class. Requirements for parent participation will vary by center.
