SAN JOSÉ RECREATION PRESCHOOL PROGRAM

This program offers children between the ages of 3 to 5 years old an educational and recreational experience. This program supports children's imaginative, physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development The San José Recreation Preschool Program prepares students for kindergarten success in a safe and welcoming environment.

KINDERPREP

This class prepares your child for kindergarten with age-appropriate activities, learning concepts, socialization skills, and fun! Your child will gain a basic understanding of shapes, colors, pre-phonics, literacy building (i.e. identifying letter sounds, writing the alphabet, and simple words), number recognition, and counting up to 30 The goal is to have fun, participate, and learn Children must be able to use the restroom unassisted. All children must have valid immunization records on file before the start of class. Requirements for parent participation will vary by center.

Playable on almost any surface, these soccer-themed motor skill classes are very easy for youngsters to get into Classes focus on developing motor skills and self-confidence Core soccer skills are taught as well as an introduction to light competition. This pop up class is great for moms, dads or whoever wants a little break! Let your kids express their creativity while you moms, dads and whomever else can enjoy some time to yourselves

The kids will have a blast in this class as we are inspired by the popular kids movies Frozen and Encanto. The kids will create beautiful themed activities related to their favorite princesses

Our first class will be inspired by the movie Frozen and our second class will celebrate the movie Encanto.

COOKIE SCIENCE CLUB

In this new and exciting class, the students will use basic cookie recipe ingredients to test and experiment How does each ingredient affect the cookies in flavor, texture, etc? Does amount or even consistency of the ingredients affect the cookies? We will of course have fun eating delicious cookies, but also have the opportunity learn about different ingredients and how they change and interact with an overall cookie recipe There will be 3 different sessions making 3 different types of cookies. The first session is chocolate chip, the second session is egg free and the third session is the kitchen sink(non-traditional with many ingredients) cookies.

WACKY ROBOTS & WIDGETS-FULL DAY/HALF DAY

Whether your child loves to build things or destroy them, this week of camp includes lots of both! Junior Mad Science engineers design and build structures using simple tools and their imaginations Then the machine madness starts children discover how different machines, both simple and complex, are used in our daily lives! Kids design simple machines using pulleys, wedges, screws, levers and have fun learning how catapults work We use the skills we've learned to build a Mad Science robot that we can keep, all while learning the science of robotics!

If you have love all things Manga and Fashion, sign up for this class. Join Young Rembrandts for a 5 day drawing workshop; we'll be drawing and coloring all things ANIME! Artists will learn to draw anime style fashion characters ranging from simple to elaborate-this is a great way to combine fashion designing skills and learn new manga tricks Each day students will complete multiple pieces of artwork like manga hairstyles, school uniforms, fantasy costumes and more ARTastic drawings

Quilting is the art of sewing two or more layers of material together to create a variety of textile products. The Senior Citizens Commission studies, reviews, evaluates and makes recommendations to the City Council on matters affecting older adults in the City of San José, including health, education, employment, housing, transportation and recreation.
