SUMMER CLASSES DANCE

BALLET/TAP

Come join the fun! Students will have fun learning Ballet positions, warm-ups, and tap steps Correct technique and terms will be taught Students will learn a dance routine to perform for family and friends. Parents are allowed to stay for the first 10 minutes on the first day of class and are encouraged to attend the last class for a presentation This activity will take place in the Dance Studio Room 8

Gym Stars

Be a gymnastic star! Learn cartwheels, handstands, rolls, round offs, and much, much more! Parents are allowed to stay for the first 10 minutes on the first day of class and are encouraged to attend the last class for a great recital. Wear a leotard, stretch pants, sweatpants, or shorts Bare feet during class are suggested Children should secure long hair back in a ponytail This activity will take place in the Dance Studio Room 8.

Learn both Hip-Hop and Jazz dance moves in this high energy class. Parents are allowed to stay for the first 10 minutes on the first day of class and are encouraged to attend the last class for a great recital

Mini Gym Stars

A great beginner gymnastic class teaching basic gymnastic skills, including movement exploration, balance, and coordination, and at the same time teaching agility and improving motor skills Parents are allowed to stay for the first 10 minutes on the first day of class and are encouraged to attend the last class for a great recital Wear a leotard, stretch pants, sweatpants, or shorts Bare feet during class are suggested Children should secure long hair back in a ponytail This activity will take place in the Dance Studio Room 8

The City of San José offers activity scholarships for children, seniors, and adults with disabilities who qualify Scholarships will cover 50-75% of the class cost. Fill out the scholarship form and bring the necessary documents to any City of San José community center.

Skyhawks Basketball

This fun, skill-intensive program is designed for beginning to intermediate players Using our progressive curriculum, we focus on the whole player - teaching sportsmanship and teamwork Boys and girls will learn the fundamentals of passing, shooting, ball handling, rebounding and defense Participants should bring a water bottle and wear appropriate clothing and shoes

Come and enjoy different art forms such as coloring, drawing, painting and more! This art class is directed towards teen and young adults with disabilities. Each week we will try different art forms. Inclusive Active Sports

Let's play some table tennis, also known as ping pong! How about some basketball, or even some brisk walking as a group? This group is an inclusive group for those who want to come socialize and play table tennis, basketball, and stay active with friends! Participants must be able to participate in a 1:6 staff to participant ratio and independent with personal care needs or provide an attendant

Come and play some social games such as bingo, Loteria, Connect Four, Jenga, and more! We will get to play many games to stimulate our brains and to socialize with our friends! Candle Making Workshop

An inclusive one-time event for individuals ages 16+ to join and make 1 candle, with tons of scents, molds, and designing opportunities. Movie and snacks will be provided

Program is open to all Participants must be able to function in a 1:3 staff to participant ratio and independent with personal care needs or provide an attendant for personal care Attendants will be required to pass a City of San José background check in programs that serve youth under 18 years of age Participants aged 16+ must have an adult enrolled as well.

CHARCUTERIE AND PAINT NIGHT!

An inclusive one-time event for individuals ages 16+ to join and enjoy a premade charcuterie board by staff, and watercolor paint with a movie to set the mood!

Program is open to all Participants must be able to function in a 1:3 staff to participant ratio and independent with personal care needs or provide an attendant for personal care Attendants will be required to pass a City of San José background check in programs that serve youth under 18 years of age. Participants aged 16+ must have an adult enrolled as well.

RANGER HIKE AT KELLEY PARK!

Join us and the SJ Park Ranger team for a low intensity hike around Kelley Park Learn more about the history of the park, including areas such as the Japanese Friendship Garden, and History Park! After some fun information from our Rangers, enjoy a small, themed craft in the park

Program will be taking place AT Kelley Park All participants will meet at Leininger Center at 10:00 am. All participants must function with a 1:10 staff ratio, or an attendant must be enrolled if additional support is needed
