BASKETBALL (Session 1)

VOLLEYBALL (Session 1)

This fun, skill-intensive program is designed for the beginning to intermediate players. Using out progressional curriculum, we focus on the whole player - teaching sportsmanship and teamwork. Boys and girls will learn the fundamentals of passing, shooting, ball handling, rebounding and defense. Required attire: Participants should bring a water bottle and wear appropriate clothing and shoes. This class will take place at Roosevelt Park's basketball courts - 901 E. Santa Clara St.

MULTI-SPORT - BASEBALL & SOCCER (Session1)

Be a gymnastic star! Learn cartwheels, handstands, rolls, round offs, and much, much more! Parents are allowed to stay for the first 10 minutes on the first day of class and are encouraged to attend the last class for a great recital. Required attire: Wear a leotard, stretch pants, sweat pants, or shorts, Bare feet during class is suggested. Children should secure long hair back in a ponytail.

PUBLIC SPEAKING - CONFIDENT SPEAKERS & WRITERS Being able to communicate effectively and confidently has immeasurable benefits in students professional and personal lives. A fun learning environment to bring out confidence in your child. This class is filled with fun activities teaching young children the life-long skills. They learn how to stand tall and speak confidently in front of a group. They begin to understand the concepts and importance of maintaining eye contact, good posture, volume, and expressions. This class helps them give structure to their thoughts improving their writing skills. Get your day going by joining the Walking Club! Walking can help build confidence in your ability to be physically active and improve your overall health while still being low intensity. It is also, a great way to socialize with friends when enjoying a nice walk around the park. The Walking Club is perfect for active adults and low fitness participants! ZUMBA GOLD - THURSDAY Zumba Gold is the lower intensity version of the typical Zumba class and is designed to meet the physiological and psychological needs for seniors. It is a low-impact fitness class with simple dance and exercise moves, which makes it the perfect class for active older adults and low fitness participants. YIN YOGA- WEDNESDAY

Yin Yoga is the type of Yoga that is mellow, slow, and focuses on long held stretches on the floor and standing. It focuses on range-of-motion (ROM) on the joints of the body. In doing so, it energizes all the muscle groups and gives the joints the encouragement and ability to be fluid and flexible, enhancing mobility. Perfect for inactive as well as active folks, as class members work at their own pace and their own ROM. No soreness after a session, relaxing and refreshing for both mind and body

Come find out how much fun it is to Line Dance. Lessons are easy and provide great exercise. You do not need a partner or any experience to dance. You will learn classic and popular line dances. Dance shoes are recommended. Masks are recommended for indoor programs.

TAI CHI - TUESDAY

Tai Chi is an art embracing the mind, body, and spirit. Tai Chi is an effective exercise that consists of physical exercises and stretches. Tai Chi has been described as meditation in motion because it promotes serenity through gentle movements connecting the mind and body. The benefits of Tai Chi include reduced stress, improves mood, and better sleep, and promotes weight loss. Masks are recommended for indoor programs.

CHINESE CHOIR @ ROOSEVELT

Come and join the Chinese choir which involves the practicing of songs in English and Chinese. The choir also provides its members with a sense of community and friendship. It is important for one's quality of life to have a feeling of belonging with other people. Singing also is physically relaxing, helps to relieve tension in the body, reduces stress and gives a feeling on well-being, and helps to keep its members mentally and physically active.

The San José Recreation Preschool program offers children, 3 to 5 year olds, and their families educational and recreational experiences that support their imaginative, physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development. Children prepare for kindergarten success in a safe and welcoming environment. The San José Recreation Preschool Program is adhering to all Santa Clara County, Public Health guidelines to ensure the health and well-being of students and staff. KINDERPREP This class prepares your child for kindergarten with age-appropriate activities, learning concepts, socialization skills, and fun. Your child will gain a basic understanding of shapes, colors, pre-phonics, literacy building (i.e. identifying letter sounds, writing the alphabet and simple words), number recognition, and counting up to 30. The goal is to have fun, participate, and learn. Children must be able to use the restroom unassisted. All children must have valid immunization records on file before the start of class. Requirements for parent participation will vary by center. LITTLE LEARNERS Children will be introduced to socialization, positive self-esteem, following directions, and simple learning concepts. Children will work on hand eye coordination and motor skills, while gaining independence through the use of circle time, music, songs, stories, play, arts and crafts. Food will be provided for cooking activities and may be provided for special events. Children must be able to use the restroom unassisted. All children must have valid immunization records on file before the start of class. Requirements for parent participation will vary by center. THE HATCHERY This program is an opportunity to introduce preschoolers to farm life and animals at Emma Prusch Farm Park. Activities will include caring for our farm animals, songs, stories, crafts, garden fun, and games to develop socialization skills, eye-hand coordination, and motor skills. Your child will also learn alphabet sounds, shapes, and colors in a safe and fun farm atmosphere! Children must be able to use the restroom unassisted.
