JUNIOR SPORTS @ROOSEVELT

MINI GYM STARS

Join us for Junior Sports @Roosevelt! Your child will enjoy an hour filled with tons of fun physical activities. They will have the opportunity to try various sports including soccer, baseball, basketball and much more while also enhancing their teamwork and motor skills!

A great beginner gymnastic class teaching basic gymnastic skills, including movement exploration, balance, and coordination, at the same time teaching agility and improving motor skills. Parents are allowed to stay for the first 10 minutes on the first day of class and are encouraged to attend the last class for a great recital.

MARLEAU HOUR

DROP-IN FUTSAL (YOUTH)

This hour is perfect for sharpening your skating and puck handling skills. Rental equipment will be available upon request. Must register at the center. This not a free class. Dropin fees apply.

Futsal Drop-In Sessions provide the opportunity to sharpen player skills, provide extra practice time, and a chance to work on passing, dribbling, and individual or team playing skills. Scrimmages are encouraged with adequate participants. Every player needs to have a current waiver signed by parent/guardian and on file before playing. Futsal will be played on multi-sport surface in a outdoor roller hockey rink. Must register at the center. This is a youth only program. This not a free class. Drop-in fees apply.

ROLLER HOCKEY PICK-UP

DROP-IN FUTSAL (ADULT)

Pick-Up hockey is a mix level scrimmage time on the rink while working on individual skills, and in game scenarios. This are coed games and all genders may play together. This is a 100% club neutral program and is not affiliated with any roller hockey club. Proper roller hockey attire is required. Goalies are FREE! Must register at Roosevelt Community Center

Futsal Drop-In Sessions for adults 16-50yrs. Scrimmages are encouraged with adequate participants. Every player needs to have a current waiver signed and on file before playing. Futsal will be played on multi-sport surface in a outdoor roller hockey rink. Cancelled sessions due to weather will not be scheduled.

FALL ALL STAR SPORTS CAMP October 3 - 7 • 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

This multi-sport camp will introduce youth to various sports played at Roosevelt rink. The essentials of street hockey, roller hockey, futsal, flag football, and volleyball are taught in a safe, structured environment. Our games and activities are designed to allow youth to learn the sports skills at their own pace. All equipment will be provided.

Zumba Gold is the lower intensity version of the typical Zumba class and is designed to meet the physiological and psychological needs for seniors. It is a low-impact fitness class with simple dance and exercise moves, which makes it the perfect class for active older adults and low fitness participants. Spaces are limited in accordance to Covid-19 Guidelines. Masks are recommended for indoor programs. Registration is required for participation. No Drop ins available.

Get your day going by joining the Walking Club! Walking can help build confidence in your ability to be physically active and improve your overall health while still being low intensity. It is also, a great way to socialize with friends when enjoying a nice walk around the park. The Walking Club is perfect for active adults and low fitness participants! YIN YOGA - WEDNESDAY Yin Yoga is the type of Yoga that is mellow, slow, and focuses on long held stretches on the floor and standing. It focuses on range-of-motion (ROM) on the joints of the body. In doing so, it energizes all the muscle groups and gives the joints the encouragement and ability to be fluid and flexible, enhancing mobility. TAI CHI - TUESDAY

CHINESE CHOIR @ ROOSEVELT Come and join the Chinese choir which involves the practicing of songs in English and Chinese. The choir also provides its members with a sense of community and friendship. It is important for one's quality of life to have a feeling of belonging with other people. Singing also is physically relaxing, helps to relieve tension in the body, reduces stress and gives a feeling on well-being, and helps to keep its members mentally and physically active.

Tai Chi is an art embracing the mind, body, and spirit. Tai Chi is an effective exercise that consists of physical exercises and stretches. Tai Chi has been described as meditation in motion because it promotes serenity through gentle movements connecting the mind and body. The benefits of Tai Chi include reduced stress, improves mood, and better sleep, and promotes weight loss. Spaces are limited in accordance to Covid-19 Guidelines.
