BALLET/TAP

Come join the fun! Students will have fun learning Ballet positions, warm-ups, and tap steps Correct technique and terms will be taught Students will learn a dance routine to perform for family and friends. Parents are allowed to stay for the first 10 minutes on the first day of class and are encouraged to attend the last class for a presentation

What runs from ear-to-ear and is contagious? Give up? It's the SMILE your child will have as they get to explore the fun, artistic world of Young Rembrandts cartooning! Your child will laugh and learn while drawing our fun superhero expressions lesson in the month of January. It's springtime and that can mean only one thing, it's time to register for our new spring classes If you think your child wants to be an architect, they will love our city skyline lesson Learning to develop and apply patterns is the focus as our artists venture out into the wild as they create an intricate zebra drawing. Later, our students will learn about cool and warm colors with the patterned flowers lesson and realism with the tower bridge and our art history lesson focusing on Gustave Klimt. Of course, it wouldn't be spring without a drawing of new baby bunnies and a fawn Hurry and register!

Art Masters Pastel Workshop

This Young Rembrandts workshop is full of possibilities! Join us for five days of pastel fun as we learn about a new medium and explore art history by studying different artists and their work Each day we will create one large drawing in pastel chalks We will create wonderful artwork while being inspired by Edvard Munch’s The Scream, Pablo Picasso's Woman in Hat, Vincent Van Gogh’s Chair, Wassily Kandinsky’s Bavarian Market Square and Claude Monet’s Regatta at Argenteuil The daily results will be truly frame-able! No experience necessary Please wear an old shirt or smock to class each day.

Keep your preschoolers warm and engaged during the cold winter months There’s no place warmer and more artistically engaging than a Young Rembrandts classroom Warm thoughts will dance through your preschooler’s imagination as they draw our colorful hat and mittens lesson in the month of January. A drawing of a mouthwatering pizza and the cutest duck this side of Swan Lake will bring out the artistic mastery in your preschooler out in February In March, things will start to warm up with the cutest puppy. The warm colors in our parrot drawing and pirate ship lesson will have you setting sails for the Caribbean This winter, expand your preschooler’s creative horizons with a Young Rembrandts class.

At Camp San Jose your child will participate in an unforgettable summer day camp experience combining summer camp traditions with enrichment and educational activities. Children will play crazy fun games, sports, create cool arts and crafts projects, sing funny songs, and embark on a weekly field trip. Activities incorporate educational features disguised in fun and entertaining activities and projects. Price includes a low leader to child ratio of 1:10, field trips, a Camp San Jose shirt, skill building, new friendships, disguised learning and much more!

*Families opting not to participate in field trips are responsible for finding alternative care for their child(ren) not attending the trip. The City will not provide a prorated refund for those that elect not to participate, nor will onsite care be available. Campers need to bring water, lunch* and sunscreen each day.

*Check with your local community center for a complete list of field trips, lunch programs, scholarships, and payment plans. Each Camp San Jose session runs for 1 week.

DIABETES CAMP- TYPE 1

This collaborative day camp program is provided by the City of San Jose's Therapeutic Services and California Diabetes Association. There will be fun activities, outings, games, crafts, and diabetes education. Nursing staff will be on site to help monitor blood sugars and provide education to participants and families. Every summer, Breathe California offers Camp Superstuff, a week-long day camp held within the region served by Breathe California of the Bay Area This year, the City of San Jose, Mayfair Community Center, is partnering with Breathe California to offer Camp Superstuff This camp is designed for children 6-12 suffering from asthma, Camp Superstuff blends asthma education curriculum with traditional summer camp activities. KINDERPREP

This class prepares your child for kindergarten with age-appropriate activities, learning concepts, socialization skills, and fun! Your child will gain a basic understanding of shapes, colors, pre-phonics, literacy building (i e identifying letter sounds, writing the alphabet, and simple words), number recognition, and counting up to 30 The goal is to have fun, participate, and learn Children must be able to use the restroom unassisted All children must have valid immunization records on file before the start of class Requirements for parent participation will vary by center

LITTLE LEARNERS

Children will be introduced to socialization, positive self-esteem, structured playtime, and simple learning concepts. Co-Ed Non-Competitive Division is for players who have little or no basketball experience and would benefit from participation in a structured program, with a focus on skills development, basketball fundamentals and structured games time. Practices will be held on Saturdays 30 minutes before their game. The games are two (2) fifteen minutes running halves, with each team member playing 10+ minutes per game
