SILVIA RIGHETTI PORTFOLIO

ABOUT ME Hello, I am Silvia Righetti. I was born and raised in a town on the Adriatic Sea in Italy. I moved to Bologna to pursue my dream of becoming an illustrator and cartoonist. There I earned a bachelor’s degree in “Comics and Illustration” and a master’s degree in “Comics Language.” Meanwhile, I founded an independent comics label called Brace and discovered a passion for visual design. Between degrees, I took the opportunity to do some internships abroad, first in Hamburg and then in Berlin. For years I worked as a freelance illustrator and visual designer. What I love most is telling the stories behind the drawings I make. I always find a creative solution to best convey a concept, and this is one of the things I love most about my profession. I enjoy working with new people and am eager to explore every creative field, from digital to analog. For the past two years, I have been living in Berlin. I enjoy traveling, reading novels and comics, watching TV series, eating ice cream, and stalking dogs. BIO:

DOSSIER 19 LOSLASSEN

Brigitte Magazin, Germany’s leading women’s magazine, contacted me to create five illustrations and the cover of Dossier #19 for the September issue. The theme, “Loslassen” (Letting Go), is investigated through five articles that touch on many aspects of everyone’s daily life. My challenge was to translate the theme into illustrations effectively, adding a visual atmosphere. I chose bright colors to express the strength of the messages and capture the reader’s attention.

CAGE - COMICBOOK Cage is a comic strip about overcoming the limitations that prevent people from changing a life they no longer fit into. It began as a personal project that I wrote and drew. After completing the comic book pages, I edited the layout of the book and hand-lettered the texts to fit the drawing style.
