MLK Jr. Day Celebration Wednesday, January 28 OwlTHON Friday, February 20 OwlTHON brings together students, faculty and alumni to raise money for Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital (YNHCH) through a night of nonstop dancing and activities. Participants remain on their feet for the duration of the event as they stand up for the kids at Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital (YNHCH). More than 200 participants raised a total of $6,187 at the first annual OwlTHON on February 21, 2014. On February 20, 2015, the second annual OwlTHON will kick off at 6 p.m. in the Adanti Student Center Ballroom and will run until midnight. Visit owlthon.kintera.org to learn more. Hall Olympics Sunday, April 19 All nine residence halls take part in friendly competitions in various events. Events range from threelegged races and scavenger hunts to three-on-three basketball tournaments and more! Spring Week Monday April 20 – Saturday April 25 Spring Week takes place during the final weeks of the spring semester, and highlights include the Spring Week concert and dance party. In the past, the Spring Week concert has featured artists such as Fabolous, The Roots, Trey Songz, The Dream, Talib Kweli, Yellowcard and more. The Big Event Saturday, April 25 The Big Event is a campus-wide initiative that brings Southern students and staff together to support the New Haven community through service and volunteerism. Registration opens in March. Student Appreciation Day Wednesday, April 29 Programs Council sponsors a day of events and giveaways to recognize students for all their hard work.
