2-4 PM – Meet the Dietician – ASC Fitness Center Meet Sarah Varcher, Registered Dietician, and ask her your quick nutrition and healthy eating related questions or stop by and sign up for a FREE nutrition counseling session in February. She will provide resources, recipes, and snacks! This is available for all students, and not just members.

ONGOING PROGRAMS: Feminine Product Drive for the Homeless Join the Sociology Club as they will be collecting sealed feminine products (tampons, pads) to donate to Columbus House, a local homeless shelter. Collection boxes will be found in the Sociology department office in Engleman, the SAGE Center on the 3rd floor of the Student Center, the information desk on the plaza level of the Student Center, and the Lang House.

Free Group Fitness with the SCSU Fitness Center – ASC Fitness Center Try out any of the fitness classes that are on the spring 2017 calendar! Meet the instructors, get motivated, and prepare for an awesome semester of fitness. There is no membership required from Wednesday through Friday! Decorate your own booklet and passport, as well as learn about the awesome opportunities that Global Brigades will have throughout this semester to Nicaragua as well as their future brigade in 2018.

11 AM-2 PM – Student Phil-a-Cup – ASC Plaza Level The Annual Giving Campaign at Southern wants you to show your Owl Pride! Donate $5.00+ to Southern and choose where you would like your money to go at the University. Whether it is a Hoot Loot, cash, or credit card donation you can help make a difference. If you are a senior, you can make a donation of $20.17 to the Senior Class Fund and receive a t-shirt as well as philanthropy cord to wear for graduation. Help raise awareness among students and show why it is important to give back to Southern.

11 AM-2 PM – Involvement Fair – ASC Ballroom Southern has over 100 clubs and organizations to choose from. Make the most of your college experience and get involved! It’s never too late! Join us for the involvement fair and find your home with one of our amazing student organizations.

12-2 PM – Get Yourself Tested & HIV PrEP Clinic – Granoff Hall Walk right in for quick, free, and confidential STD testing as well as special information on PrEP! There will be more dates throughout the spring semester, however there’s no better time than now to get yourself tested!

12-2 PM – Winter Welcome Bash: Multicultural Open House – ASC 233 Kick off the 2017 spring semester at the Multicultural Center. Join us for dominoes, crafts, trivia and cultural dishes. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet friends while discovering the abundance of resources and programs that happen in the Multicultural Center!

1-2 PM – Vegan/Vegetarian and Gluten-Free Pizza Social – ASC 301 Hungry? Indulge your taste buds with vegan/vegetarian pizza from one of New Haven’s finest pizza house. Learn about local dining options and engage with other students who have similar alternative diets.

2-2:30 PM – The How to Unpack Success Series Part 1: How to Read a Syllabus – BU 303 Join the Peer Academic Success Coaches as they provide you with the opportunity to fully understand how to read your syllabi for the Spring Semester. It’s never to late to start planning and understand what will be going on in your courses.

2-4 PM – Exercise is Medicine – SZ 100 How often do you incorporate physical activity into your daily life? Did you know that this can help prevent depression, anxiety, hypertension, obesity and even cancer! Take home information and learn how to start with a healthier you!

Peruse a small collection of rare and unique Artists’ Books in the Hilton C. Buley Library. Then, create your own artists' book to take away with you. Light refreshments provided.

4-6 PM – Graduate Student Welcome Station – EN Rotunda ATTENTION GRADUATE STUDENTS: Stop by the Welcome Station for information on upcoming events and graduate student funding opportunities. Pizza and drinks will be provided with free giveaways. Sponsored by the Graduate Student Affairs Committee (GSAC).

5-7 PM – SAGE Movie Night – ASC 324 Gather together in the SAGE Center with other students to watch a free screening of Paris is Burning. This will be the first of a semester-long series of educational films at the SAGE Center which will explore the LGBTQ+ experience, and give students the opportunity to have a dialogue and understanding about the LGBTQ+ community.
