The Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein with the Hilti Art Foundation offers a diverse programme of contemporary and modern art.
Das Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein mit Hilti Art Foundation bietet ein facettenreiches Programm der zeitgenössischen und modernen Kunst.
The impressive black cube right in Vaduz provides spacious exhibition rooms on two floors. Two years ago the three-story white exhibition building of the Hilti Art Foundation was added and today visitors are invited two explore both places.
Der ausdruckstarke schwarze Kubus mitten in Vaduz bietet weitläufige Ausstellungsräume auf zwei Etagen. Vor zwei Jahren kam das dreistöckige, weiße Ausstellungsgebäude der Hilti Art Foundation hinzu, so dass heute gleich zwei Museumsorte zum Entdecken einladen.
“The profile of the collection of Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein, which is at the same time the state art collection of the Principality of Liechtenstein, is specifically defined by three-dimensional artworks: sculptures, installations and objects,” explains curator Christiane Meyer-Soll. “A particular emphasis is on Arte Povera and post-minimal art. The collection is showcased in temporary presentations accompanying the major changing exhibitions of international twentieth and twenty-first century art.”
„Die Sammlung des Kunstmuseums Liechtenstein, zugleich staatliche Kunstsammlung des Fürstentums Liechtenstein, erhält ihr Profil besonders durch dreidimensionale Kunstwerke: Skulpturen, Installationen und Objekte“, erklärt Konservatorin Christiane Meyer-Stoll. „Arte Povera und Post-Minimal Art bilden inhaltliche Schwerpunkte. Gezeigt wird die Sammlung in temporären Präsentationen, begleitend zu den großen Wechselausstellungen zur internationalen Kunst des 20. und 21. Jahrhunderts.“
The current exhibition Reservoir Moderne showcases works by Saâdane Afif, Marcel Duchamp, Latifa Echakhch, Mario García-Torres, Dmitry Gutov, Mai-Thu Perret und Rosemarie Trockel amongst many others.“The artists examine the conceptual, programmatic and formal traditions of the early twentieth century that have become established as parameters,” Meyer-Stoll adds. “They search for traces that help to identify alternative modes of reception, thus opening up avenues for an unexpected positioning in the history of art: they rediscover modernism.” The Hilti Art Foundation is currently running the multifaceted exhibition Kirchner, Léger, Scully & more with 36 selected paintings and sculptures from its distinguished permanent collection. 40 | Issue 60 | March 2018
Aktuell läuft die Ausstellung Reservoir Moderne, welche unter anderem Werke von Saâdane Afif, Marcel Duchamp, Latifa Echakhch, Mario García-Torres, Dmitry Gutov, Mai-Thu Perret und Rosemarie Trockel zeigt. „Die Künstler befragen konzeptionelle, programmatische und formale Traditionen des frühen 20. Jahrhunderts, die sich als Parameter festgeschrieben haben“, fügt Meyer-Stoll hinzu. „Sie suchen nach Spuren, die alternative Rezeptionsweisen erschließen, und eröffnen so Wege für eine ungeahnte Verortung in der Kunstgeschichte: Sie entdecken die Moderne neu.” Die Hilti Art Foundation hingegen zeigt momentan die vielseitige Ausstellung Kirchner, Léger, Scully & mehr mit 36 ausgewählten Gemälden, Plastiken und Skulpturen aus ihrer exzellenten privaten Kunstsammlung. www.kunstmuseum.li
