The Lost Warhols Lobby In 1982, Karen Bystedt cold-called Andy Warhol at Interview Magazine and asked he pose for her book-in-progress featuring the era’s top male models. The resulting images materialize a rare and remarkable sense of vulnerability; in this portrait session, Bystedt captures a soft and submissive Warhol, a man who spoke much of beauty, and its essential mystery, and as is suggested in his rigid pose, his bewildering gaze, and simply, his participation in her project, seemingly so wanted to be seen as beautiful himself.

Baba Yaga Front Desk Ailene Fields is a prolific New York City sculptor of figurative forms and fantastic creatures, she also owns The Compleat Sculptor, the largest teaching, consulting, sculpture supply store in the USA. Baba Yaga is a Middle European ancient witch that lives in a house made of skulls, with no doors or windows, which moves about on chicken legs and she eats those who are not pure of heart. The 19 Baba Yaga Eats series is a commentary on the state of the art world and the cabal of art dealers and critics, museum curators and those obsessed with hype. She may be coming to eat you. Richard Zawitz Retail Lounge Born in Pittsburgh—the birthplace of Andy Warhol and epicentre of the American steel industry, two major influences in his oeuvre—Ricahrd Zawitz now shares his time between San Francisco and Hong Kong. Following a degree in Fine Art Sculpture and a double minor in Asian Art History and Asian Philosophy from the University of Hawaii, he travelled and studied extensively—specifically Japan, China, Thailand, India, Nepal, and Tibet. The global scope of these early experiences left a profound influence on his artistic practice and worldview. Hence, throughout his career, Zawitz has looked to ancient Eastern cultures for examples of how to create a spiritual connection between form and meaning. He is inspired by constantly movable host of subjects: mythology, art history, alchemy, metaphysics, and the language of archetypal symbolism.

Dara Piken Diez y Seis
Dara Piken (b. 1993) is a contemporary artist born and raised in New York City. The subject matter which Dara explores through her art is sociological and historical: irony, sarcasm, and popular culture. Through the years, Piken’s style and technique have markedly evolved as she has connected her subjects throughout various historical eras, offering surprising juxtapositions in her use of mediums and reworked historical imagery as content. Piken prefers to touch on intense subjects in a subtle way, garnering attention from the likes of Refinery29 and Bag Snob. Piken’s work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions in Manhattan and Brooklyn, and will be on view at Diez y Seis at The Shore Club Miami, during Miami Art Week. Anouk Van Tetering Anouk graduated from the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam after which her works have been shown in many places around the world. Small vintage objects that she has collected over the years are the inspiration for her new series. Tiny vintage Chanel bottles, old keys, buttons and many other items have been used as a source of inspiration for her beautiful large works of art, revealing secrets that would otherwise be too small for the naked eye. Anouk: “In this age of fast social media, it is just magical for me to pause for a moment and take a closer look - everything has its own beauty and is often overlooked. There are many details and secrets that are hidden away from our eyes. If you would just zoom in, a whole new world opens up.“

Katy Hirschfeld Lobby I grew up in Asbury Park, NJ. I took art lessons when i was barely entering grade school with a family friend named Judy Lewis. One day I laid my artwork against a wall assuming it was dry, the next day we discovered that the paint had ran down the whole canvas. I revel in what Lewis called “A Beautiful Mistake”. An error that I embraced, became enamored with, and pragmatically infuse in most of my art work. My collages are often influenced by my personal outlook and true life experiences. I share a fraction of my own little world, by promoting strength, knowledge, and self awareness to overcome social flux and challenges; learning from them through the art of mixed media. I like to express my playful side, never shunning the Basquiat beneath. Culled from the social consciousness and current events of today, each of my pieces feature a different cultural comment viewed through the lens of my experiences. The simple overlapping of many small pieces, arranged in just the right way speaks volumes, touching on issues implicitly without being overbearing or sanctimonious. My work tends to stand as a viewers’ test, challenging what one sees versus what they feel in relation to the contemporary pits, progress and powers effecting as all.
