We offer training for companies employing immigrants Training in the country of origin for nursing staff (150 h)  Finnish language training and learning about Finnish culture for people recruited from overseas, taking place in their own country  Teaching the basics of Finnish and terminology needed in the workplace  The training course is tailored according to need, e.g. colloquial/standard Finnish  Training will be continued as agreed once the new employees start work in Finland


Finnish language as web-based teaching (50 h)  Enables Finnish language studies even if applicants do not live close to one another and it is not possible to arrange traditional contact teaching in the country of origin.  Applicants must have a sufficient level of proficiency in the support language (English/Russian/German).  Training is implemented as contact teaching online and with independent exercises.  The receiving workplace and field of work are taken into account in the teaching content where possible.  Less contact teaching than in training in the country of origin.


Multiculturalism in the workplace (4-8 h)  Taking multiculturalism into account in everyday situations in the workplace reduces conflicts arising when recruiting employees from overseas.  The training course offers practical viewpoints and tools to help an overseas employee to a good start in their work.  The training course deals with stress in the workplace and how to reduce it.

Multiculturalism in managerial work (4-8 h)  Management skills and human resources in a company that is becoming multicultural or international  Management or supervisors in the role of cultural interpreter  The effect of management or supervisor attitudes on others in the work community



Training in occupational Finnish Training focusing on occupational terminology and the language skills needed at work. Occupationspecific Finnish language training is offered in a number of sectors, including:     

nursing metal transport food sales

Vocational Finnish language training is always tailored to best suit the company in question.

Assessment of learning abilities as part of Finnish language training (30 h ) We assess the applicants’ ability to learn Finnish at a rapid pace. The students will take part in elementary Finnish teaching where learning is tested on a regular basis. The students’ ability to learn Finnish and their motivation for learning the language will affect the results.


Occupational safety card training for immigrants (20 h) Training to support the studying of Finnish language needed in occupational safety card training. Training takes place in the form of contact teaching and independent exercises, a study day, and the occupational safety card test.
