A MANDATORY pre-bid meeting will be held on November 10, 2016 at 9:30 a.m., at 1522 Cecil Cook Place, Santa Barbara, CA, to discuss the specifications and field conditions. The City of Santa Barbara is now conducting bid and proposal solicitations online through the PlanetBids System™. Vendors can register for the commodities that they are interested in bidding on using NIGP commodity codes at http://planetbids.com/portal/portal.cfm?CompanyID=29959. The initial bidders’ list for all solicitations will be developed from registered vendors. Bids must be submitted on forms supplied by the City of Santa Barbara and in accordance with the specifications, terms and conditions contained therein. Bidders are hereby notified that pursuant to provisions of Section 1770, et seq., of the Labor Code of the State of California, the Contractor shall pay its employees the general prevailing rate of wages as determined by the Director of Department of Industrial Relations (DIR). In addition, the Contractor shall be responsible for compliance with the requirements of Section 1777.5 of the California Labor Code relating to apprentice public works contracts. Contractors and Subcontractors must be registered with the DIR pursuant to Labor Code 1725.5. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the DIR.
