He’s the author of 12 books including Seed of the Future: Yosemite and the Evolution of the National Park Idea and served as a director of the National Park Foundation. In the spring of 2009, along with Ken Burns, Duncan was named an Honorary Park Ranger, an honor bestowed on fewer than 50 people in history.
