102 ATTIC RED-FIGURE NOLAN AMPHORA BY THE ETHIOP PAINTER A young warrior standing, wearing a belted chiton, a chlamys draped over his right arm, a shield over his left shoulder and a spear in his right hand, takes leave of an older bearded man to the left; an inscription in added red in between: KONI. Reverse: A standing bearded man, wrapped in a himation and leaning upon his staff. Ca. 460 BC. H. 11 7/8 in. (30.2 cm.) Ex Japanese private collection, acquired in 1990. Published: J.
