Ex French collection. 13 ROMAN MARBLE LIFE-SIZE PORTRAIT HEAD OF A PATRICIAN SEVERAN WOMAN, her exceptional coiffure of individually curled locks of hair forming a deep corona around her calm expression. Behind this her hair is combed into a thick braid which continues down her back, bound with thin twisted bands of hair. Ca. AD 190-225. H. 11 in. (28 cm.) Very fine style.
