Given that title in AD 139 by the Emperor Antoninus Pius after adopting him as his heir. Found near Bath, England. Ex A. T. collection, Geneva, Switzerland; J. Turner, Amsterdam, 1984; F.A.collection, Paris, acquired from Royal-Athena in 1991; S.G. collection, South Carolina, acquired from Royal-Athena in 1998. Published: J. The head, made separately, is set into the body but belongs.
