DAY 1 – Arrival in Budapest

Fly to Budapest and transfer to your cruise ship. We are moored overnight so you may fancy a wander ashore to start exploring. (D)

DAY 2 – Budapest

Budapest is always atmospheric and fascinating but at this time of the year, it is particularly captivating. This morning we enjoy a guided tour including the iconic Parliament Building and the fascinating Castle District, from where you can admire the dramatic Danube views. DAY 3 – Bratislava and Vienna for New Year’s Eve

This morning we explore Bratislava on our guided tour. The Slovakian capital has recently rekindled its past in the restored old town, and the impressive 17th century castle commands expansive views across the Danube. You’ll also have plenty of free time to explore the cobble-stoned streets of this charming city. This afternoon we cruise to Vienna for the New Year’s Eve celebrations. No visit here is complete without a live musical experience, and

DAY 4 – Vienna on New Year’s Day

For many waking in Vienna on New Year’s Day will be a highlight. This morning we enjoy a guided tour taking in the main sights, including St Stephens Cathedral and the impressive Hofburg complex. There will also be plenty of time to explore. This afternoon we visit the magnificent Schönbrunn Palace. Once the summer residence of the Hapsburgs, this former royal residence now houses a range of world-class museums and galleries and your included entrance also allows you into the dazzling state rooms. The palace also hosts a superb Yuletide market, specialising in traditional handicrafts and nostalgic toys. DAY 5 – Budapest

We cruise through gentle pastoral landscape on our return journey to Budapest. This afternoon head up to the sun deck as the Captain skilfully navigates our return course to the Hungarian capital. Our ship will be moored right in the heart of Budapest this evening so why not take a stroll before the magnificent Captain’s dinner and a lively Hungarian folklore show. DAY 6 – Return home

Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK. (B)
