Craft Cocktails With A Twist

According to Mintel, millennials are interested in profiles, ethnic infusions and flavors that are imparted by using specific preparation methods. Since strawberry is the most popular margarita flavor variation, taking it a step further and roasting the strawberries allows this one to stand out and command greater interest. Pictured here is the Roasted Strawberry Mezcal Margarita. It's sweet, smoky, and delicious. This variation on a ubiquitous classic is sure to attract attention.

Blackberry Basil Margarita

Ingredients

1.5 oz 100% Blue Agave Blanco Tequila 3 oz Powell & Mahoney Margarita 5 Blackberries 4 leaves Fresh Basil ½ oz Fresh Lime Juice

Preparation

In a cocktail shaker lightly muddle blackberries and basil. Add a squeeze of lime, P&M Classic Margarita and Tequila. Top the shaker off with ice and shake. Fill a rocks glass with crushed ice and strain contents of shaker over glass. Garnish with a blackberry and sprig of basil.

Michelada

Ingredients

1-2 oz Powell & Mahoney Bloody Mary Mixer 1 bottle Mexican beer of choice Squeeze Lime Dash Worcestershire sauce TT Hot Sauce – a few dashes TT Tajín (chili-salt mixture) Garnish Olives

Preparation

Rim a glass with Tajin and fill to the top with ice. Add P&M Classic Bloody Mary and then fill to the top with your favorite Mexican beer. Squeeze in the juice from a wedge of lime and drop it in the glass, add a dash of Worcestershire and hot sauce and serve.
