Seventh edition for this prestigious competition, a true sailing Grand Prix of the city of Venice, reserved for maxi-yachts. About fifteen crews paired with as many representa tives of Veneto hoteliers will compete on the waters of the lagoon to contend for the much-sought “Doge’s hat”, a specially-made artwork by a well-known Venetian glass factory. The circuit will wind along from the open sea to the heart of St. Mark’s Basin, overlooked by the old and new seats of the Compagnia della Vela, the prestigious and ultra-centenarian Venetian club. VENICEMARATHON.

Il programma potrà subire modifiche in relazione alle normative di sicurezza imposte dal periodo. 35. edizione di una delle più affermate maratone ita liane riconosciuta a livello mondiale dalla IAAF e a certificazione Silver Label. Il tracciato della gara che prenderà il via dalla splendida cornice di Villa Pisani (ex reale) di Stra si snoderà attraverso la suggestiva Riviera del Brenta, i centri di Marghera e Mestre e il Parco di San Giuliano per raggiungere Venezia lungo il Ponte della Libertà. Qui gli atleti passeranno per le fondamenta delle Zattere (a fianco del Canale della Giudecca) per raggiungere Punta della Dogana, dove da un ponte galleggiante attraverseranno Il Canal Grande. Transitando per Piazza San Marco, il percorso raggiunge il traguardo fissato in Riva Sette Martiri. Il programma prevede inoltre vari eventi collaterali tra i quali Exposport, fiera mercato dedicata allo sport e al tempo libero presso il Parco di San Giuliano (venerdì e sabato 10.00 – 20.00); la Family Run Mestre, gara non competitiva di 3,5 km dedicata a ragazzi, famiglie; la VM10K, una corsa non competitiva aperta a tutti negli ultimi 10 km della maratona con partenza da Parco San Giuliano e arrivo in Riva Sette Martiri. The event programme may be changed in relation to the safety regulations imposed during this period. 35th edition of one of the most established Italian mar athons, recognised at world-class level by IAAF and certified by a Silver Label. The race itinerary, which will depart from the splendid framing of the (formerly royal) Villa Pisani at Stra, will wind along the suggestive Brenta Riviera, the centres of Marghera and Mestre and the Park of San Giuliano, reaching Venice along the Ponte della Libertà. Here athletes will run on the Zattere quaysides (alongside the Giudecca Canal), reaching Punta della Dogana, where they will cross the Grand Canal over a purposely-built floating bridge. Going by Saint Mark’s Square, the track will reach the finishing line set at the Riva Sette Martiri. The programme also features various collateral events including Exposport, a trade fair dedicated to sport and leisure at the Park of San Giuliano (Friday and Saturday 10am – 8pm); the Mestre Family Run, a non-competitive 3.5 km race dedicated to children and families; the VM10K, a non-competitive race open to all in the final 10 kms of the marathon, starting from San Giulia no Park and arriving in Riva Sette Martiri.
