THE ROLE

This job description is by no means exhaustive, and will be finalised in discussion with the successful candidate to take into account their personal interests and expertise. However, the role is likely to include the following:

Contribute to strategic discussion, planning and development in relation to the pastoral and safeguarding needs of all pupils; Liaise with the Director of Pastoral Care and other key staff to ensure outstanding pastoral care is provided to all pupils in our Senior School; Lead the team of Heads of Year; Serve as Educational Visits Co-ordinator for the Senior School; Lead the delivery and development of a forward-thinking, innovative and holistic programme of co-curricular activities in the Senior School; With the Director of Pastoral care, lead parent meetings and presentations on pastoral matters in the Senior School;

With the Director of Pastoral care, lead pupil induction (all Senior School year groups);

Serve as DDSL for the Senior School, and provide support for the DSL and DDSL of Junior School; Be available on summer public examination results days to provide pastoral support to pupils as required; Work with the Director of Pastoral Care and Vice Principal (appointment – January 2024) to lead and develop our staff wellbeing provision; Support the Director of Pastoral Care on planning and developing our Senior School PSHE programme, including delivering sessions as required and liaising with the relevant members of Junior School staff to ensure coherence;

Support the Director of Pastoral Care and Director of Junior School in responding to pupil disciplinary incidents;

Support the Principal in the development of Senior School pupil voice opportunities, including leading pupil committees as required;

Support the Registrar and Principal with pupil recruitment and school marketing.
