+ THU., JULY 10 {STAGE} Although its name might suggest otherwise, PICT Classic Theatre is also concerned with the contemporary. Its latest production is Irish playwright Marina Carr’s 2006 work Woman and Scarecrow, and Carr herself will work on the show with the cast and director Alan Stanford. The first performance is tonight; Carr speaks before July 12’s opening-night performance, and attends the reception that follows. The tragicomic play concerns the final moments of a woman’s life, which she spends conversing with a scarecrow that only she can see. Nike Doukas stars. Dan Willis 8 p.m. Continues through Aug. 2. I-Dentify: f All-Butch Fashion Show

During the 1980s comedy boom, according to the press release for Zombo’s Greatest Schmo on Earth, “everyone under the age of 30 still living at home or mooching off a girlfriend was a standup comedian.” Local DJ and musician Zombo’s new 70-minute documentary, Schmo Bizness, depicts a reunion of comics from “the trenches of grade-B comedy clubs who haven’t seen each other in nearly 30 years.” The film premieres tonight at the Hollywood Theater, with live standup from locals Davon Magwood and Shannon Norman, live surf music by Vertigo-go and
