Most Advanced Technology Enkei developed a new manufacturing process to produce the next generation of aluminum wheels. Most Advanced Technology (MAT) combines one-piece cast wheel technology with a rim-forming “spinning” technique. Use of this new technology of casting and rim forming, the MAT process, is critical to drastically improve the material properties and strength of wheels. In addition, Enkei’s rim-rolled technology shapes the rim to improve material elongation without sacrificing the wheel’s hardness.

This wheel also has a large brake caliper clearance to meet car enthusiastsâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; needs. ROULETTE PATTERN Our unique roulette pattern is grooved on the rim to reduce the slippage ratio between tire and rim. LIGHT-WEIGHT POCKET DESIGN This innovative technique was created for the McLaren Mercedes Formula One machine. Shaving aluminum from the sides of the spokes relieves wheel stress and makes the wheel lighter, which is a crucial element in racing. ANTI-SLIP PAINT The use of anti-slip paint enhances the wheel’s grip on the tire, resulting in reduced tire distortion during extreme acceleration. P/O 429

DURA-FLOW MAT Enkei’s MAT (Most Advanced Technology) process improves the molecular structure of aluminum and reduces wheel weight without sacrificing strength. Through improving the material’s strength and changing the rim profile, MAT evolved into DURA-FLOW MAT. This process optimizes the rim’s strength and rigidity, while also producing a new rim shape that accommodates large high-performance brakes.

ENKEI Racing History In 1986 Enkei actively became involved in motor sports by supplying 3-piece wheels to the Minardi F1 team. In 1995 Enkei became an official sponsor of Vodafone McLaren Mercedes which took home championships in 1998 and 1999. Enkei also supplies wheels to Mitsubishi Ralliart, which competes in the World Rally Championship (WRC). The team won 4 consecutive championships from 1996 through 1999. Enkei started in Japan as “Enshu Keigokin Co. Ltd.”, which translates as “light alloy of the Province of Enshu.” Enkei’s technical knowledge, developed through the

MAT MICRO STRUCTURE

The MAT process has a drastic impact on the micro-

scopic structure of aluminum, resulting in outstanding improvement of the mechanical properties of the material. The process of spinning the rim allows metal flow in

the rim, resembling the properties obtained from a forging process. The control of the metal flow in the rim results in

a finer molecular structure without sacrificing the strength and rigidity of the wheels.

CAST PROCESS

Precision casting technology maintains superior wheel integrity while keeping the wheel lightweight and strong.

Most Advanced Technology (M.A.T.)

Enkei developed a new manufacturing process to produce the next generation of aluminum wheels. Most Advanced Technology (MAT) combines one-piece cast wheel technology with a rim-forming “spinning” technique. Use of this new technology of casting and rim forming, the MAT process, is critical to drastically improve the material properties and strength of wheels. In addition, Enkei’s rim-rolled technology shapes the rim to improve material elongation without sacrificing the wheel’s hardness.

Enkei’s MAT processes make wheels strong and anti-flex. All MAT wheels are extremely strong and lightweight, which allows the car to accelerate faster and brake more efficiently. This in turn allows the driver to drive smoother and faster.

All Enkei wheels are engineered to pass rigorous

testing. In fact, Enkei established its own test standard called “Spec-E,” which is tougher than JWL requirements.

Enkei’s Spec-E test setting requires a higher drop point in the impact test and 20% more cycles for the rotary bending

fatigue and dynamic radial fatigue tests than JWL standards. The Spec-E standard shows Enkei’s confidence in its technology and the quality of Enkei wheels.

STEPHANVERDIER Since his teenage years, Stephan has been involved in the racing world. At the young age of 17 in his birth country of France, he competed in a go-kart championship finishing 8th in the nation. In 1993 stephan came out on top after competing against 1200 applicants in the Brigdeston Driver search, then went on to compete in various formula races, winning nothing less than 5th place. Rally came next, beginning at CRS championships in 2001. Driving a 1988 323 GTX, stephan ended up placing 2nd in the PGT class. A few years later in a 2002 Subaru WRX, he began to compete in the SCCA Werstern State Rally Championship’s PGT class. After numerous podium finishes and being the first PGT team to ever win an event overall, Verdier and his team took home the championship win. The following year, he was again the domineer in his class with 4 wins. In 2005, stephan ran Pikes Peak Hill Climb in the Autosport Engineering’s 2005 WRX STI, winning the open class, overall in the rally competition and the hill climb. 17 | ENKEI WHEELS

Starting in 2006, Stephan jumped into drifting with a brand new Nissan s14, he battle amongst many drivers and performed great for his first year. In 2008, Verdier finished 13th in the formula Drift championship and 13th at the Red Bull World Championship. In the 2009 season, Stephan his in the top 16 drifters in USA and won his first event overall at round 6 Sonoma.

He bought his first rally car in 2002. Has won the rally class twice at the famed Pikes Peak International Hillclimb (2003, 2004). A former pro drifter, Verdier left drifting at the start of 2011 to focus on the Global RallyCross Championship, where he has been competitive. Stephan has also competed in two consecutive X-Games including this past year in the “Kick Buttowski STI” (2006 Subaru STI). Stephan uses the Enkei NT03+M on his Subaru STI.
