Is it true that silicon can give me better skin and nails? How do it get it?

Silicon is a trace mineral that is the second most abundant element in the earth’s crust and mantle. Silica or silicon dioxide, is an oxide form of silicon. We get some silicon in our diet, especially in coffee, unfiltered water, grains, bananas, beans, lentils, and raisins. Silicon should not be confused with silicone, which is a polymer of silica, oxygen, and organic compounds; silicone is found in surgical tubing and medical devices. People use silicon for cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, digestive disorders, Alzheimer’s disease. Because research suggests that it stimulates collagen synthesis, and is associated with extracellular matrix production, silicon is most often used for various skin conditions, including hair loss, poor skin and nails.

Some smart formulations to try are CanPrev’s Silicon “Beauty” (10mg of MMST Silicon from Nova Scotia quartz which is world’s most absorbable form, with 2.5mg biotin per daily capsule; also in liquid), and BioSil (6mg Silicon with 112mg of Choline per capsule; dose is 2 capsules daily; also in liquid). These should benefit greatly, especially when combined with plentiful water intake and a healthy, balanced daily diet and lifestyle.
