ASK AN EXPERT

Are you troubled by facial hyperpigmentation?

As a 30+ year veteran dermatologist, I see patients with facial hyperpigmentation that is persistent, complex and troublesome where basic remedies have not worked. At Dermapure, we continue to explore science-based solutions for our patients.

Non-prescription cysteamine cream or Cyspera, available recently as a 5%-7% cream, has been very promising, as we see good improvement in melasma patients along with a good tolerability profile even during summer months and for those with sensitive skin.

The addition of prescription oral Tranexamic acid has been transformative for stubborn melasma cases. More recently for those unable or unwilling to take oral medications, mesotherapy tranexamic acid performed as a monthly lesional treatment can be highly satisfying. Korean based studies, where this form of therapy has been used successfully for years, has been helpful in informing us.

Make an appointment with us to get an appropriate diagnoses so we can provide alternative treatment options that will suit your individual needs. Dermapure is invested in the science of beautiful skin!
