Claire Bauer and Jessica Carr met at Hairdressing College in 1997. It took 10 years of friendship for Jessica to admit she had been secretly in love with Claire! WHO POPPED THE QUESTION? “We got engaged on Claire’s bir thday (10 Januar y). Jessica proposed with a rose corsage as we already had commitment rings.” TELL US ABOUT YOUR WEDDING? The ceremony was held in the Cellar at Cloudland. It was amazing with the rich tones and candles. It cer tainly set the mood for the Halloween atmosphere. We wanted glam with a little bit of funk. We purposely picked Halloween as our wedding date as that was just us... Weird and Wonderful! Our Celebrant, Jamie Eastgate from Brisbane City Celebrants was superb! He made ever yone comfor table and his humour was infectious. The positive energy he brought to our vows was touching. We cannot thank him enough. We went through so many theming options but in the end, we stuck to ‘black tie with a twist’. The reception was held in the Alice Room at Cloudland. The chandeliers added the glam we wanted and the funky design gave it a whimsical touch. “We had a cocktail style menu. With both brides being Coeliac and Jessica having other allergies as well, we knew the food would be hard. The venue provided all gluten free items and their chef went above and beyond to assist us. The energy from our family and friends was incredible. We laughed and danced all night. People went out of their way to make us feel so loved.”
