“Our favourite songs were playing in the background and after a few tears, me asking Kate the all-impor tant question, and presenting her with a diamond ring that was designed just for her, it was a resounding YES. We drank champagne and enjoyed the moment, before heading off to Frogmore Creek Winer y for a long lunch. The food was incredible and the company even better. We were thrilled to share the news with our family and friends who shared in our excitement. It was then that our real mission began. Soon after we got engaged, MARRIAGE EQUALITY hit the headlines and the campaign for a yes vote began. We played an active role in the campaign and I am so proud to have had someone like Kate by my side through it all. We were fighting for each other. Our friends and family were fighting for us and for our community. It was something we will never forget.”
ANOTHER SURPRISE “As the results of the vote were announced, Kate was also doing some planning of her own. The weekend following the celebrations, she bought me a new outfit, told me to put it on and said she was taking me on a date. Little did I know what she had in store. We arrived at the most beautiful private dining room I’ve ever seen. As we walked in, I could hear music. Kate had organised for my favourite singer, Jo Davie, to be there and she was playing an acoustic version of my favourite song. It was amazing. There were flowers and candles ever ywhere. Kate gave me the most stunning diamond ring and we slow danced while Jo sang, and then both our families joined us to celebrate the year that was. I couldn’t have asked for anything or anyone more perfect.” “We could not be more excited to now be planning our wedding, which will be in Spring 2018. A lifetime with Kate will never be long enough.”
